I really appreciate your comments Spencer. Just got a bunch of new full auto firearms transferred in and working on getting some video content. I also have a bunch of precision/ sniper rifle content coming up as well. Thanks for the support!

The tone of that suppressor is really pleasant on the ears
@LegacyArmsIntl3 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! It sounded quiet from behind the rifle but I also had hearing protection on. Hearing it on video shooting standard velocity ammo is pretty impressive and I know shooting subs will be even quieter.

That had an odd but satisfying sound. Much quieter than i thought it would be. Hard to tell as always behind a screen. Whats the barrel length vs silencer? Does this integral barrel have holes in it reducing velocity?

Dope setup. The remington 700 long action bolt has stood the test of time really well. It's no wonder both marines scout snipers,us army sniper school use it to train new recruits on. Btw I thought the 168 smks were optimized for semi auto rifles.
@LegacyArmsIntl3 жыл бұрын
The 168 gr has been around for a long time and works well in a lot of semi autos, but that is more because of twist rate and barrel length. Most modern sniper rifles work best in the 160-180 range due to these factors while most machine guns, at least here in the US, use the 147 M80 ball ammo. None of this is set in stone though and so I always test out a new rifle or machine gun with different weights to see what the rifle prefers.

Dear God. You could shoot that in a crowded room and no one would know it was a gun going off.
@LegacyArmsIntl2 жыл бұрын
Its incredibly quiet, but this suppressor also reduces the muzzle velocity quite significantly so you end up with a reduced effective range over a normal .308, but when you need something to be quiet, this definitely works!
@Jcasta8 Жыл бұрын
@@LegacyArmsIntlthank you for highlighting that fact. I have had many arguments about effective range being diminished.

Nice idea.. how long is the barrel
@LegacyArmsIntl2 жыл бұрын
The barrel is a 16” ported barrel and the suppressor tube is 20” in length. Long enough to maintain accuracy out to 600m while greatly reducing the noise signature. Out past 600m I start to notice a decrease in accuracy due to lower muzzle velocity.

@@LegacyArmsIntl Since the barrel is ported does that mean 62kpsi loads are a no-go? Or is it ported in such a way as to make it tolerant of port hole erosion?

Have you taken a decibel reading? It will be interesting to compare it with the B&T SPR300 which is 121dB (A)
@LegacyArmsIntl2 жыл бұрын
I have not taken a formal db reading for this gun. I own both the Gen 1 and Gen 2 B&T SPR300 rifles and plan to do a side by side of this rifles in the near future and may try and do some readings on all three when that happens.

Really cool one! Don't think I've seen an integrally suppressed sniper rifle before, not that I can remember at least. It didn't jump at all as much as I thought it would from a .308 round, is that because of the suppressor? Awesome vid! Also really smooth action, too.
@LegacyArmsIntl3 жыл бұрын
The reduced recoil is a result of a few things. Initial recoil impulse is from the primer igniting the powder. As the bullet travels down the barrel, it pushes back with equal force on your shoulder. A heavier gun, which this is, will dampen some of that force in the beginning. The second aspect that creates recoil is the gases escaping the muzzle at a high rate of speed. In a bolt action rifle, there are no moving parts to bleed off the gas, so the gas tends to mostly travel down the barrel and escape out the front creating a jet propulsion effect in the opposite direction. On a suppressed rifle, it slows the gases down to cool them and reduce the high rate of expansion which causes the sonic crack as the gas leaves the muzzle, and so having a heavy suppressed rifle reduces both of the energy experiences that create recoil for the shooter.

Moa at 100 yard?
@LegacyArmsIntl7 ай бұрын
This one holds a .75 MOA out to about 600m. The barrel used is the same barrel that came with the rifle just cut down and ported so it isn’t a match grade barrel but holds acceptable accuracy for what it intended to be used for. You lose some velocity due to the barrel porting so out past 600m it begins to open up significantly.
