If the Bullet of the Subsonic was headed with Graphene to stop it from Dropping like a Brick due to metallic weight, and Gas Powered Cartridge, and used on a Suppressor, that could be the trick. you can 3D print Graphene Filament into Bullet Heads.

Just out of curiosity for those familiar with guns, what kind of damage would that last configuration with subsonic rounds do to a human at 300 yards? What do you mean by "another" LOL I d assume that except for the problems with actually hitting anything at that range, it d be plenty to penetrate flesh and kill, albeit the exit wound d be smaller. As to shooting at somebady with armor plate, well perhaps even a pistol grade body armour could be enough to stop the bullet. It is only a speculation though.

The video he mentioned, he is shooting gel. It shows subsonic going in about 15cm, vs supersonic 30cm. He was shooting from relatively close, urban combat distance. This is actually preferable, as the bullet will stay in the body, not fly through and hit someone else. Penetration is a function of the velocity, mass, and shape of the projectile. You can recalculate how it will penetrate using kinetic energy formula. If you know a particular bullet goes in, say, 30 cm at 400m/sec, it's easy to figure out how it will do at 300m/sec, because penetration depth will be directly proportional to kinetic energy difference.

i like that you included not shooting the plinky plink plates. The bullet doesn't go supersonic downrange. It leaves the barrel supersonic and starts slowing from there. The crack comes not from "breaking the sound barrier", but from the shock wave created by the bullet as it moves through the air at supersonic speed. quietest rifle i ever shot was a ruger semi auto .22 running a suppresser and sub sonic ammo. the owner had the recoil mechanism tuned to the ammo so it cycled fine. it was so quiet all you could hear was the mechanism cycling and that sounded like clicking your fingers using no pressure. i was 25 or so years ago so i don't remember what the grouping was like or what range it was affective at. he used it to hunt rabbit and foxes at night. on weekends he would sit with it on a bench with a spotlight on a foot switch and an eski with beer and snacks overlooking a field. then he would either wait for rabbits or use a fox whistle and every now and then hit the light switch and see if anything was there.

decibel readings dont mean much tbh. Most all suppressors are at 136-138db, Surefire SOCOM has the deepest sound but is higher than the OSS by 3db. It is user preferense and how many rounds you plan to drop through it. Couple hundred a year? Get the lower Db rate, shoot several thousand rounds a year? Get the more rugged one at the cost of mere 2-4 db.

You guys haven't seen one Russian rifle called the VSSK "Vehlop". This 12.7 mm sniper rifle is designed for low-noise and flameless destruction of lightly armored and unarmored vehicles, as well as manpower in personal protective equipment at a range of up to 600 meters and looks more like a silencer with a rifle, not a rifle with a silencer.

A lot of factory subsonic ammo is not quality controlled like there supersonic ammo and no where close to hand loads. With the rite bullet and powder you can get very repeatable and very accurate rounds with more than enough KE to be viable in hunting and defense situations. There’s already a ton of subsonic specific hunting rounds and a ton of deer hogs etc are taken with them every year. A 240 grain bullet leaving the barrel just under supersonic and still traveling at 800+/- FPS at 300 yards is still approximately the knock down power of a standard 45 ACP at point blank range.

Try a 220 gr RN FB just below the sonic threshold. You can't go faster but you can go bigger to obtain better terminal balistics. Takes a while to get there but will sound like a Volkswagon hit the plate.

Dude, don't down play the energy on a 30 cal sub. If you have a fast twist barrel, (< 1:10) you can spin a 220 grainer, and it will have more energy at 100 yards than a 45 acp hardball at the muzzle. It will go through pine trees and all kinds of targets that you wouldn't think. Quiet does not necessarily mean low power. It looks like your subs were diverging at range which means that the twist wasn't fast enough for your bullet weight (length).

I don’t care how many safeties it has you should never twist on a surpressor or any other barrel attachments with a round in the chamber deff a mistake that went overlooked but just in case people don’t know, doing any of the latter is very dangerous and could result in serious injury or death under proper circumstance
