One of my favorite quotes of recent has been "The opposite of love isn't hate, it is indifference." Really makes me realize that love and hate are really closely related to each other.
@TheDiamondNet4 жыл бұрын
On the relative, "love" and hate are opposites on the same spectrum. Now, on the absolute, love is simply what is and doesn't have much to do with human relationships directly. It's the prima materia of reality. So, it is just what is. And what I've found is that fear (resulting in attachment and resistance) is the thing that blocks love from being experienced. So, love and fear are opposites. But indifference has an interesting relationship to love for sure.
@patriarchysound4 жыл бұрын
@@TheDiamondNet Is it more accurate to say that indifference is in an opposite category to both love and hate then? Because even tho love and hate are opposites of eachother, they are also complementary towards eachother in terms of wholeness. Thanks for discussing!
@TheDiamondNet4 жыл бұрын
@@patriarchysound I feel like it would be a different spectrum. So, it would be more like indifference versus investment, or something of that nature that implies someone is taking something seriously. And thank you for your comment as well.

I cried watching this. Feels like this video was meant for me. I knew already from your other videos some of the concepts you spoke about such as repressing some aspects of ourselves and pushing them into the shadow, and thanks to meditation I knew *exactly* which parts these were (I can't put names to them but I can identify them and they take on various recurring shapes and characters/spirits in my dreams) and I've avoided confronting them for a long time. It's terrifying, and now I know why it's terrifying after watching this video. It's like I (or the current dominant parts of myself that I identify with) might feel invalidated if I acknowledge the other parts because of this intense polarity I created in my psyche. I think I have a bit more clarity about what I need to do about it now. It's all me, after all, even if I tried to deny it. It might be a lifelong journey or a one day exercise, but I know that I need to do it anyway or I'll remain in my cycle of misery and confusion for the rest of my life. I will go watch your active imagination videos now. Thank you.

Forming judgements for the purpose of dis-identification with traits perceived as “bad” (or visa versa for “good”) sounds like it is based in a spectrum about social acceptance/rejection. I end up asking what other reasons a judgement might form. For instance, I fear lack of personal control, so judgements are a way of imposing internal order (I am watching your chaos video next, lol). You mentioned future videos may go into mechanisms for schisms, anticipating the questions I have from this one. I look forward to it. Thank you, Emerald!

For me, honesty and loyalty is the crux of judgment. I have a deep loathing for betrayal.
@TheDiamondNet4 жыл бұрын
Well, the way I definite judgment in the sense that counts is, "Are you using a value judgment of another person to prop up your own identity by allowing you to identify with what you see as good and not with what you see as bad?" So, the way to look for Shadows is to look for your internal "betrayer"... which requires you to see yourself in unflattering lights. Then you can begin to understand the mechanism more and why it happens... which may then give you access to any part of yourself you've thought of as reflecting this quality in some way.

I don't like the idea of moderation. I don't like mixing babies with bath water or accepting trade-offs. I rather take out the bad ingredient and have only good. So I approach my emotional life this way, or I make plans that I will manage to be fully functional without the "bad" x-emotion. Glad I saw the video.

Hi I love listening to your explanations ty! It weaves understanding its so nice. I like the hand gestures too! I'm learning to draw hands in school right now and I am watching you talk and explain with your hands. Do you talk about Internal Family Systems work too? I'm learning how to integrate my parts on the spectrum through that form of integration with a therapist. It's been so helpful. I love doing shadow work now more and tend to embrace it easier now. I had a hard time integrating on a somatic level what I needed to feel with the understanding. But its happening slowly. I'm doing work with understanding my fight flight and melting old energy out of my system. It's helping but it only happens when there is safety within the different parts. Ty ❤️

there is also a thing about our brains - it always tries to save energy, therefore it usually takes familiar ways of thinking, cause something new takes more effort to execute.. to form new connections between neurons and, therefore, learn to do/think something new - you need to be persistent and try and try again and again) it's simple but we tend to forget it)

Do you think judgement can be healthy?
@365healthjourney4 жыл бұрын
Judgments with honesty and integrity are never unhealthy and should be listened to One doesn’t judge oneself naturally they won’t judge others if you’re honest with yourself there’s nothing real about the unhealthy judgments you make about self and others are minds creations of thought realities but still can judge ones surroundings for ones safety.

@@365healthjourney the archetype of "Judge Judy" is one who takes those less evolved into responsibly. This type of judgement is pure rational and isn't interested in the emotional side, yet offers one the ability to take accountability for their actions. She is a great public figure to describe where judgement is perfectly needed in society. From an independent level I think boundaries and personal standards assist us to come into alignment with what we want and don't want. If practice correctly it invites in Co creators rather then Co dependents.

that's a poor way to put it imo. mind fundamentally is a complex of parts which can often disintegrate. what you're offering is more of a psychological approach. but you can do kriya to be able to bend the mind energetically whichever way you like. however, it's a rather lengthy, elaborate, and honestly - very demanding process
@TheDiamondNet4 жыл бұрын
I understand what you're saying, because emotional issues occur on the level of the body. So, to get rid of emotional wedges that create these schisms we can also do body/energy work... such as Kriya, Tai Chi, etc. But this is specifically a top-down way of coming at the issue... using the mind as a doorway instead. But you're still stepping down into the same emotion. So, it's the same result, using a different doorway. But there are, of course, some drawbacks to taking the path of the mind in this way. And that's because the mind is tricky. But I've personally found this modality to be very helpful. And it's good for people who aren't into a body-based yogic path.
