Will you be sticking with Intel or switching over to AMD next build?

I will be sticking with my 13600K 5.7 x 4.5 x 5.0 and avoiding any bios updates from now until my RTX 4080 can no longer play games at decent setting 1440p. Then I will get whatever the equivalent of the 13600K and RTX 4080 is going to be at the time.

I just did my Bios update and did this test and got. Max threads 10428 16 threads 9552 8 threads 7113 4 threads 4310 2 threads 2189 1 thread 1100 It is about on par as I had before. Initally my voltage was higher as compared to before. You might have to play around with your Load line Calibration. AC/DC LL or/and Undervolt your CPU. Still this is an absolute shitty situation with Intel. I did have one of my 13600K fail and am on my second one.

This sounds about right for the microcode update. Performance was affected negatively, but whether or not it’s substantial just really depends on the use case of the owner

MSI PRO GAMING Z790 motherboard with 13600K with 0x125. I have voltage offset -0.125 and it never goes over 1.13V and 60º, with 5.2/4.2Ghz OC, 24100 CineBench 23. Noctua D12. When running CB the most it goes is 73º

If you are using Asus motherboard, you can switch back to older microcode, just like that.

Not sure if it is possible but they need to release another update to push the performance back up without destroying the chips cause this feels like 14th gen performance is the same as 13th gen performance after the update.
@Swaggaccino4 ай бұрын
I don't think so. Intel has gotten lazy this gen and pretty much dialed up the voltage for performance gains this gen. More voltage, more heat, less reliability and now they had to scale it back with this microcode.

lol 14th gen is just refresh of 13

The only stability fix that is not BS is to reduce voltage until Vcore never exceeds ~1.4V in any scenario, sync cores at constant multipliers (P- and E-cores separately of course), test for stability, reduce multipliers if needed. For my i9-13900KF: P-cores 55x, E-cores 43x, LLC6, actual Vcore ~1305-1314 mV in all-core loads, Vcore spikes (low CPU usage) ~1.35-1.36V

I run an 13600k, and before the update even on extreme stress it did not go any further than 1.35mV in any case. Should i leave set the old microcode in bios, since i lost a bit of performance(Although it might be negligible, havent tested enough yet

Was condering to get an 13600k as I thought microcode update would fix the issue. Is there any other AMD alternative that can deliver the performance close to 13600k at same budget?

in gaming only as 7600x for 20-30$ less while in both hm not so

Do not under any circumstances listen to the cpubenchmark website. They are heavily biased against AMD. The 13600K AMD equivalent would probably be either 7600x or 7700x. Toms Hardware has some nice benchmarks.

Well, from my limited understanding as I've just learned about this, do we expect the same performance if the update lowers the OC? I mean, I find a slight performance hit to be absolutely expected...
@Swaggaccino3 ай бұрын
It’s around a 4-5% CPU performance hit. A few frames here and there at worst depending on the game and resolution.

Hello there, I will completely build the same pc. Like the same motherboard and CPU. However these problems people face, is it diminishable with the new bios update? And is it maybe possible to help me out? Like the settings I should put in the bios? Maybe make a video regarding the settings people must to avoid problems. Would really help me out
@Swaggaccino3 ай бұрын
@@BerkayTuerk It is diminishable but to what extent? Only time will truly tell. The new bios firmware attempts to fix it, you don’t have to do anything else, just update mobo bios. Go to your mobo’s manufacturer website and they will give you instructions.
