I love the passion from both fan bases. This is what makes NCAA football so fun. Two comments. 1. I have to remind myself these are 18-22 year old kids. Not professionals, so you never know from week to week what you'll get. 2. This is why we play the game! Doesn't matter what anyone thinks. The history means nothing. Illinois wants to be Iowa? I thought Illinois wanted to be Wisconsin. I think Illini defense is slightly better than Iowa's defense. I think Illini offense is MUCH better than Iowa's offense. Illinois sticks with the run, we pass in the first half, we grind Iowa up in the second half. Iowa can't hang. Illinois just needs another clean game to win at home this Saturday evening. I want a fun game.

Illinois has beaten Wyoming, Virginia, Chattanooga & a struggling Wisconsin team, plus they lost to….checks notes… Indiana? Lol, ok I get it, their stats look good on paper but it’s not like they’ve played a murderer’s row. As an Iowa fan, I know our offense sucks. But to think Illinois is guaranteed a win is foolish. They haven’t played a defense like Iowa’s yet & Iowa’s offense plays better on the road the past 3 seasons, for whatever reason. This will go down to the wire. Iowa 24 IL 20
