Yes, for the love of all things not Hellmire yess this is how it works. The game literally shows you an arrow pointing that an attack is going from one planet to the one being defended, and if you take the one attacking it does immediately stop the attack, removing the need for a defensive campaign to either prevent the attack or establish a large chunk of liberation percentage for a follow-up campaign.

There were a ton of us trying to take Varilya 5 during the Creek Defense MO that ended earlier this week because it was attacking another planet. And then while we're doing that, there's 8k on the planet being attacked to the 13k attacking Varylia Not to mention the overall like, 45k combined that were jerking off on the bug front because "Major order done lol" when Varylia is literally 2 steps away from Malevelon. They can go from Varyliya to the planet below it, then to the creek.

YES!!! These last two major orders have been specifically tailored to illustrate this concept and people are still missing it. Not only do you get two or more planets for the price of one, but non-MO planets are easier to liberate.

SEAF are stationed on each planet and cannot hold against a supply line forever. If we cut the line, the SEAF can put them down for us.

For a while, I had the idea of a squeeze and split idea. The idea was we would split the front in half or possibly 4ths and then surround those pockets on all sides. Then each front would squeese inward on their bubble and force the enemy to defend with no supply chain because it was cut off. This would take a massive amount of effort and would have likely failed as they could simply break through a weak point in the encirclement and establish a supply chain, making all efforts inert. Thanks for discovering this new strategy because I know mine would end horribly.

Yes, we already have saved 2 planets at once before like that. It was during the last Auromaton MO, and we liberated the attacking planet before the defense campaign on the other ended, and it worked. Sry, don't remember the exact names of those planets right now.

I guess it was originally designed to be rided by human operators and because of that it's constructedlly impossible to be converted into being able to work independently

It makes the strider a little more versatile. There’s situations where the strider is destroyed but the pilot can continue fighting. In the grand scheme of things, the resource cost difference is minimal between that and integrating the bot into the strider itself.

As a veteran Helldiver with a PhD in explosive patternology, this should be common sense. It’s like saying “instead of trying to wipe up all the water continuously pouring from the sink…what if we turn the sink off and stop it from pouring water, then wipe up whatever is left”.

We had this pulled on us by the Bots; Martale got to around 90% liberated but the connecting planet's under SEAF control were overrun and we were forced abandon the campaign on Martale, where it was slowly retaken by the Bots.

The supply lines can tell you where the enemies are attacking from if there are multiple enemy controlled planets surrounding the defense planet.

I’ve been saying that to all helldivers this when defending a planet (I would literally go to the planet that needed to be defended. Fill up the squad, then go to the attacking planet, because why would they show us where the attack origin is coming from ) If they can cut us off, we can cut them off

The bugs communicate by spores so if we liberate a planet letting off these Spores into other planets we will cut off communication for the bugs making them uncoordinated and easy to take down

That doesn't really make sense: bugs have already nested or the bots have set up fabricators. Cutting off a supply line to the enemy doesn't defeat the enemies already present. I'm not risking the defense of X-45, a MO, by launching an assault on Vega Bay

Basically, those planets have the seaf stationed there, and if we cut the supply line, they face the seaf without spore or supply, so the seaf can kill off the rest of the enemies on the planet.
