My girlfriend and I made plans to use my radios during and after Hurricane Milton just in case the cells went down. We used the 3-3-3 radio plan and tested it prior to the storm and afterwards. I think it’s really telling (in a great way) that this comment section is not filled with people vigorously supporting either candidate and instead focuses on a fair voting process, encouraging everyone to vote, and being prepared for various situations that may arise after the election regardless of who wins. Slight error you made though, SCOTUS did not allow the counting of improperly filled out provisional ballots, they allowed the counting of provisional ballots which are cast by people who had their mail in ballots rejected due to error on the voter’s part.

Prepping "months" worth of food is more likely to be augmenting for a year or more of shortage rather than be your entire diet, so look not to dehydrated meals and MREs (of course a week or so of these can be needed in an emergency like tornadoes, earthquake,etc) but rather "shelf stable" foods, oils, proteins, canned/dehydrated vegetables, flour, spices. Think the ingredients and skills to MAKE foods in place of buying them....

I finished my last two years of high school in Laurel County KY back in the 70's. I called up a friend that still lived there, and asked him if he knew anything about the reported glitch with one of the voting machines. He replied that he did, and was also personal friends with the gent that was the election official in charge of that polling station (both my friend and the official are Repubs). He stated that yes, one machine had been acting glitchy. The voter in question reported it to the election officials there. They immediately took the machine off line and examined it. They were able to replicate the glitch, identify the cause, and fix the machine. And that examination of the other machines didn't turn up any problems with them. He said the type of machine that KY used, would tabulate the voter's choices, then print out a paper hard copy, which the voter would verify, and then said printout would be ran thru a scanner to officially record the voter's choices.

if you are planning to prepare for no food, water, store some water in some plastic tubs with those chlorine tabs, and buy some dry rice and beans. Those store for a long time, and if a disaster never happens you can use them in multiple foods. They are food stretchers, and you can make a large amount of food cheaply by using rice and or beans as part of the dish.

Fun Pennsylvania fact: if _three_ voters in a precinct demand police or sheriff intervention to "clear a path to the door if it is obstructed and preventing voters from voting," law enforcement _must_ respond and do exactly that. Failure to do so is a crime. Another fun fact: this is one of the _only_ situations in which LEOs are allowed inside of _or_ within 100 feet of the entrance of a polling place.
