Intelligent scan IS NOT a combination of Iris Scanning and Facial recognition. You may notice that the IR blaster did NOT Turn on. When It’s low light and the 2D facial scanning is having an issue detecting your face THEN it uses the IR blaster. Hence why you cannot use Intelligent Scan for Samsung Pay!

Quick fix for samsung with the sunglasses. I selected the option of having glasses on when I first set it up and it works when I have my Ray Bands on, the the Ray Bands are polarized and tinted and has all the fancy darkness on it and it works 100% fine. I'm using a Note 9 though. I know the note 9 got released months after the S9 plus, so maybe it's a more advanced system ? Idk ? but all I can say is it works for me with big sunglasses on and with hats on too. I also got it work with my electrical hard hat and arc helmet on !!! So idk something minor has to be tweaked or something.

The S9 is better for 3 reasons: -Does not give a 3D face representation to your government's secret organizations -Does not require a NOTCH to have face unlock/iris scanner sensors built in -Does not require you to swipe Bonus: If the unlock fails on Samsung devices you have the now better placed finger print sensor. That's not a good test. iPhone unlocks without the swipe. You can observe this by the unlock icon on top. The swiping action has nothing to do with unlocking. It just brings you from one screen to another.

Apple was not the first phone with a notch...Google provided software for phones with notches to help phones that were already created & for any future phones that will need such support eliminating the need for a lot of 3rd party coding to adjust apps, etc on the screen. I personally don't care for Animojis or Samsung horrible version of it. Also why do you say "Androids", it a clear misconception of a person not realizing that Andriod does not make phones, it's the name of software produced by Google as IOS is produced by Apple. Android software on devices not made by Google such as the Pixel or phones with what is considered a "stock" version of Android are different because they have a manufacturers overlay such as Samsung with their UI experience. Apple does not provide their software so it's only one version.

As someone who has used both phones. The X can unlock even in the weirdest of angles but with the Galaxy you have to hold it in a certain way for it to unlock. But the Galaxy also has a fingerprint scanner.

I used both. Now I am using note 9. According to my observations, iphone's face recognition is the best. Apple designed the face id recognition in a way that iphone doesn't need finger print or pattern or iris scan.

Apple copied the fingerprint as well from the Toshiba G500 from 2007, the only thing different about there's was that is was capacitive touch which really improved the security and speed. The iPhone 5 was probably the last really innovative Apple phone. I loved my iPhone 5 but switch to Samsung ever since. And on the topic of the face scanning, of course, they didn't have the highly sophisticated dot scanning of today's technology in 2011. I mean do some research for once. Apple sacrificed security for speed, twins can unlock the iPhone X but not the s9. The s10 has an in-screen fingerprint sensor maybe Apple can use that. They also have a retina scanner which is almost as secure as a fingerprint. I mean sure they make nice phones that have flashy designs and are an American company but they haven't been innovating as they used too. They just "reimagine" or "reinvent" someone else's idea and claim that is better. I mean the iPhone itself was a revolution in its day... but today we have non-innovative, consumer controlling, money hoarding, and blatantly abusing the ignorance of some customers.

I love still having the fingerprint sensor on the S9+. I still use intelligent scan, but also like still having the fingerprint scanner as an option. First, the fingerprint takes multiple prints so everyone in the family has access and you can designate one of those fingers for the secure folder. Also, you and turn on the feature where you can wipe the fingerprint sensor to bring down the notification panel which is nice for preserving the top of a screen protector. It is also in a great place, because now it being on the back your finger is already in the general area from holding it so it is very easy compared to it being on the home button. Finally, it is great being able to unlock it by the time it is in front of your face.

You can switch to regular face scan as opposed to the intelligent mode in the S9plus which would have read your face with sunglases.

Some reviewers say the intelligent scan isnt secure because of the Samsung's face recognition which isnt 100% secure. But i noticed something one day. When using the intelligent scan, it kind of has to scan both the iris and the face, cz if your eyes are closed it will not unlock the device.

I think Apple should give you the option of face ID and touch ID. If you pay $1,000 for a smartphone it should come with everything.
