I am been working in a datawarehouse project for long time and we use plsql pkg/proc for ETL implementation from moving the data from source layer to dimension layer and then for reporting. I want to learn this informatica as many company use this tool for ETL. But through informatica it seems to be bit complex to approch the simple merge query that we can write in plsql. Merge into emp_mui_t a using emp_mui_s b on(a.eno=b.eno) when matched then update set a.ena=b.ena, a.addr=b.addr, a.create_date=b.create_date, a.update_date=sysdate when not matched then insert into (a.eno,a.ena,a.addr,a.create_date,a.update_date) values (b.eno,b.ena,b.addr,b.create_date,sysdate); commit; So during 1st run, as the target table is empty so only insert will take place and then from the 2nd run onwards if there is any update on Eno then the data will be updated and the new Eno will be inserted
