lol, what? Gobert is a great defender, but he's a paint defender, not a 1-on-1 perimeter defender. I'm a Spurs fan and not even Wemby could outwit Luka on that play. If you watched the lead up to that play, they didn't "put" Gobert on Doncic. Dallas set up the switch play and Gobert's player ended up having to switch or they would have given up the easy basket. This is basketball-2024 and happens dozens of times each match. Minnesota went with defending the switch and possibly defending the 3PT shot vs giving up the easy 2PT shot. That's the play you'd make 9/10 times on defence. Unfortunately Luka nailed the 3PT and they lost. It happens.

Finch drop the ball, the defense setup of that Luka 3, is just dumb, you do not eat up the switch attempt, McDaniels must run back to Luka, even if that means Lively is wide open in the freethrow line, it's at most a dunk and that's 2 points, you don't lose the game directly and you will have 6 seconds to make a final shot. Luka make threes over centres every single time, and Gobert? He is so bad at disrupting threes, it's as well a practice shot for Luka, it's Luka, it's Luka fucking Doncic, he is the best of two players in NBA and others are not even close , you are basically giving him the win, so dumb.
