That auction house has the name of who ever brought those goats in. I worked at a livestock auction and we had to keep records for 7 years per government regulation. That being said, as hard as it is, you did the right thing to protect the rest of the herd. So sorry for your loss though.

I think they also need to contact the auction house simply because the goats he bought they were already infected when they were there. Which means there is a good probability that they also infected other animals at the sales barn. So others who bought from that auction might also have infected animals. And I agree that the auction house should ban the sellers of those infected animals not only because of the fact they brought infected animals,but also because the Auction house could be seriously impacted financially if other people were also sold infected animals.

I pray folks understand this is a real need. I feel for you because it’s a hard decision. Had livestock for thirty years now and fortunately never gone through it but know people that have. Once it spreads, one year really isn’t enough. The manure contaminates soil and only time passing do you have workable land again which in turn costs a family farm money.
