The new format is MUCH better. I like playing a variety of teams from many countries. More big matches and the groups are not over after match week 2 with 4 left under the old format. I wished Juve could have played a Spanish club, in addition to the EPL (City/Villa), Bundesliga (Leipzig/Stuttgart), Portugese Liga (Benfica), Ligue 1 (Lille) & Dutch league (Eindhoven). If a team is outside the top 8, but relatively safe to qualify for the playoff, it can rest players during match week 7 & 8, so for SOME clubs down the middle of the table, they are able to rest players during the later stage of the group.

New format is giving us more fun, but more games. What if they ask us to play 10 instead 8 games in 3 years. UEFA always watch how to move to more games they can earn from TV rights. And teams pay players who play every 3 days and are always injured. Motta needs 3 seasons, 13 new players in summer, 3 now, and to make system u need time, also Motta is young coach and he needs to grow. Inzaghi dropped 2 titles in Inter just to become a good coach he is now. Be patient, no need to blame anyone so early. Give this project 3 seasons pls. And pls build stadions, serie A needs infrastructure. Inter has a lot of chance to win CL, but last year they droped out on their mistakes, just dont make mistakes...

He dropped 2 titles but in those 2 seasons he won 2 coppa 2 supercoppa, reached a cl final and he was in a title race in one of them. Comparing inzaghi’s first seasons with inter to motta’s is crazy. For Milan, looking at all the losses and situations combined, it has to be said that at fault above all else is the management. Like you mentioned, every new summer transfer (save for Fofana) has flopped or been underutilized. Theo played much better in every season under Maldini, and that cannot be a coincidence (same for Rafa). We have a starting 11 that on paper should get to the champions league quarterfinals without too much trouble, but we struggle to beat sides like Parma and DZ. Most wins against smaller sides this season have come from individual brilliance, but I think Milan's true problem is finding a good Sporting Director to bring the team back in a positive direction. Moneyball just don't work

Agree...and also it's more balanced. Group stages of 4 were lame cause many teams did their maths at the beginning and that resulted with less entertainment and sometimes even arranged results. Plus the fact you could end in a Group of death or a very easy one and that was not fair. With 8 matches where every team has different opponents (2x tier) it's harder to make calculations and it's better for all. Gave me same vibes of the old Champions Cup where every match was crucial.

I like the new format, but kinda sad because Man City still has a chance. Imagine if they were kicked out early. As an Inter fan, I seriously thought we might have a chance to win UCL if we somehow couldn't catch up with Napoli anymore before 33rd matchday. Inter will change their directed focus to UCL & Coppa to save Lautaro's and Thuram's fitness. Because fighting for treble is so hard, man. Jose's Inter have Milito and Eto'o, where Pandev and Balotelli still can step up and actually score goals. But now Taremi, Arnautovic, and Correa can't even back Lautaro and Thuram.

New format is way better, group stages were always boring and predictable. We used to get 1-2 upsets per group. Now you get 1-2 upsets every week. And the smaller teams get to play a lot of variety of the big teams, giving their fans around the world amazing opportunities to see them play teams they never had. Its great all round, also gives the big teams opportunities to give their youngsters or bench players ucl mins when playing newer weaker teams as well. I think it was great, i didn’t expect it.

The new format SUCKS. It’s just the super league like they wanted… but said they would never do. It was perfect before with the groups and draw was so exciting. Home and away is for the fans and club honor. You knew the schedule and what the clubs needed : a win or draw and goals scored. I have zero interest in CL now, when iv watched religiously for over 30 years since 1995 final (Juve v Ajax). It’s lost its passion competitiveness excitement. Paramount would be smart to not renew its broadcast rights. Uefa and its greed has killed football.

I don't want to blame Motta but you have players who now play under him and are producing far under what's expected of them. Vlahovic, Koop, Nico and Luiz all were much better at their previous clubs and in previous seasons. We all have seen what Motta can provide but it's hard to watch these underwhelming Juve displays time and time again. Not a Juve fan but hope they make a turn for Italian football's sake

It's still a bit of a mess and they need to create new subdivisions much like the NFL with conferences and divisions for the league part of it. Otherwise the league phase is just a mess and it's not compelling enough and the seeding kind of means something but also not, its a mess. The top seed never really has to react to the lower seeds bc they aren't playing every team once like in a normal league so it's more like the NFL which is why u need divisions to create better story lines.
