Paul Lear Cranial(towards the skull) and caudal(towards the tail) refer to the up and down directions in anatomy. Rostral(towards the beak) is rarely used for humans, but in general it refers to the front of the face. You can for instance say that the nose is rostral to the ears.

So do you know how lifting the arms up from the sides in your frontal plane is being raised laterally, what is it when you raise them to the front in the sagital? The same thing?
