5:36 This is a 1976 Volvo 242, imported to the Netherlands in 2002. All cars pre January 1978, imported or not can get these historical dark blue plates :) If you import you'll automatically get them. If you have an original Dutch one, and you still haven't gone back to the dark blue ones and still are running the yellow ones (that we went to in '79) you can apply to the RDW to get the dark blue, historical plates again (but your car needs to from 1977 or older)

About the reason I think most people were hating on the XJ220 back in the day and its V6 was because all the prototypes were V12s and they were taking pre orders on the car with the promise the car would be a V12. I wouldn't be happy either if I pre ordered one thinking it was gonna get a V12 and then they release it with a V6 (which is the biggest reason production numbers were so limited, since a ton of people cancelled their orders)
@petrolpunx8 ай бұрын
Thanx for that info. It's actually pretty cool, that you can get plates having an old look.
@RobinLikeABoss8 ай бұрын
@@petrolpunx Yea definitely! Just a shame it's for the pre 1978 cars only though :) If you'd import any car from 1978 or newer they'll just get a brand spanking new yellow plate instead of a period correct one :/

The XJ220 is the most beautiful car ever made in my opinion. The backstory kinda sucks with people preordered long in advance being told by Jaguar it was going to be a V12, and AWD if I remembered correctly. Well half the drive wheels and cylinders later it's still gorgeous.

Quite a tragic history involved there. But what a cool looking car!

If you look carefully at the De Tomaso Longchamp you'll see that it's lines is straight out of a Granada MK2. It's like a chopped Granada. The lines are lowered, car shortened and the rear made more sporty. Wrong the Longchamp came in 72 and the Granada 78 so maby it's the other way around. The designers at Ford had seen the slightly more angular styling of the Longchamp when designing the Granada MK2 ,,,,just speculating 🤔😎
@petrolpunx8 ай бұрын
Yeah, there are actually quite a few design influences - and parts used. The Ford bit is no surprise, as Ford was heavily involved in all this.
@trickydicky1128 ай бұрын
Let me add my 2 cents to the Lobgchamp discussion. I love pretty much anything with a de tomaso badge on it but do acknowledge that there was a lot of design borrowing going on. The story I always had, which seems plausible when you look at rhe cars, was that the Longchamp was a reinterpretation of the Mercedes 500sl, the deauville a reinterpretation of the jaguar xj, the pantera well a mash up of a few italians, and the pantera Si a ferrari F40. Note also the question about the maserati like interior..I believe they had a relationship with them and there was even some badge engineering at one stage.

When you are using a wide angle (distorting) lens, even though you are filming at 60fps, you must learn to pan much MUCH more slowly. If you think you are panning as slowly as you should, you are still panning twice as fast as you should.
