I love your video! It's such a good explanation of the Tennison Gambit, just wonderful content. I do have a question however. Currently, I'm like a 700 player so I might be stupid IM AWARE but hear me out. At 3:38 you say instead of the move Qxc8, you should play Qxc7. I believe this is a mistake like Qxc8, because Black can then play Nc6, which, with a very beautiful geometry, traps your Queen, making every move she has a tragedy. Then Nd8 or Ne5 pulls the trigger on the one space she had left. Instead, I think White should adopt a "take the money and run" approach to the Tennison Gambit, where they play Qd3+, Qd2, or Qd1 to just get their Queen out of Black's territory. Just my thoughts, thank you!

@Yoshicality3 жыл бұрын
_The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't._ _In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was._ _The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error._

I use this concept all the time, but you don't need to waste a knight and a bishop. If you set up your bishop on c4 early, and remove the D pawns, you can send bishop to f7 and they have to take. Low development means good chance they can't take queen back or even save half their pieces from back rank queen. If they have already developed their knight to c6 then you have to trade and get it out of there, at which point you will probably have to use your knight to force the king out, since you probably placed light bishop on b5, which isn't guaranteed.

"You can even turn it into a reverse Stafford gambit" Someone's been watching Eric Rosen too much
@12jswilson4 жыл бұрын
It's not really a reverse Stafford because a lot of Stafford ideas don't work because black can play e6. I play the Boden-Kierseritsky against the Petrov which has the same ideas as the Stafford plus is a tempo up

2:21 what if the opponent plays 3. Qd3? Continuations like 4.d3 4.h5 5.Nc3 may not lose you the game but with the pawn being taken the ICBM is gone

I played Kings Gambit and arrived at this position with one pawn difference. In bullet, losing a piece might not lose a game, but the horror of losing a queen that early in the game makes one forget the two pieces in comp.

3:37 Actually, you shouldn't take the pawn on C7 either, at least in this exact position. Black can play Nc6 here, and the queen has literally nowhere to go. And Nd5 or Ne8 is coming. (e.g. after 9. Qxc7 Nc6 10. Nc3 Ne8 11. Qxc6+ bxc6 Despite having 3 isolated pawns, Black is still considered winning because he's up a bishop for a pawn, has a stronger center and the bishop pair.) You're welcome. I know I just saved you, random comment viewer. What you should play from here when you see 8. ...Nc6 or 8 ...e5 is to IMMEDIATELY bring your Queen back to d3 with check. I'll leave it to you to work through what to do to stuff like Bf5, e4 or whatever else Black can do, but White should have avoided most of the traps in this position (except for something like 9. Qd3+ Kf7 10. Qc4+ Kg6 11. Qxc7 Nc6 because this is literally a transposition of the move that would've trapped your queen on move 9).
9:38 I believe that's the Tetris Defense, I-block Variation.

Another trap that I've had with this opening is after black goes Knight F6, and you offer D3, and recapture with bishop, but black doesn't try to kick the knight immediately, but rather goes Knight D7 to block you from taking the queen. In this position you can do multiple things but you just want a waiting move and are still baiting black to play H6. In the game I had I played knight C3, but you can also castle or whatever. The point being that after Black tries to kick the knight on G5 with H6, you can just drop the knight on E6. Now the queen is trapped, and lost, if black captures the knight with pawn it's checkmate with only Zeh Bishop on G6. Pretty cool trap to know when you do play this opening 🚀👍

3:37 "you should just take the pawn" Taking the pawn is actually a blunder because Nc6 traps your queen

At 3:40 if white takes the pawn with Qxc7, black can play Nc6 which traps the white Queen. I found this using Stockfish. Don't know if someone has commented this before me.
@Tab5919 күн бұрын
3:43 Levy's right, he can't win a game up a queen because qxc7 is a blunder, after nc6 the queen is trapped and after white moves, ne8 wins the queen

3:40 don't take the pawn just get your queen out, knight c6 traps your queen and no matter what you do you lose her if they follow it by knight d5

When the pawn moves to e6, you can play queen to c7, bc if they try to check the king with bishop to B4, you can block it with queen to c3

Hi guys just wanna say If u want to know this more simple u can do this as both colors but Im just gonna talk about how to be a queen up as black since Levy has told u how to as white so white plays "d4" and u plays "e5" "dxe5" "bc5" and if he plays like nf3 or other moves as long as only the king is the only one protecting the queen ( queen is not attacked ) but this will not work againts nc3 so here white will just move nf3 and u play d6 and "e5xd6" and "ne7" and d6xe7 and the winning move bxf2+ The king have to take the bishop and ur free ti take the queen. Oh and this wont not work if he plays bd2 cuz the line on d is closed with the bishop.
