Yes. Moonglow is a beautiful and mysterious color. The way it settles and separates in different colors, as it dries, is amazing.

Love this! I know there are so many colors that can be mixed from the primaries. I bought Sennelier Viridian specifically to mix moonglow.

I agree. It is fascinating to experiment with various mixes. So many colors....so little time! :-)

Beautiful demonstration of the possibilities Moonglow offers. I ordered a tube along with the Primary and Secondary set today. Do you think Raw Umber, Burnt Seinna Yellow Ochre Cobalt Blue and Nickle Azo Yellow would be good options to complete a mixing palette of twelve? And should I add a stronger Red. I'm so new to this I'm standing over in the sap green section of the art store. 😁

Yes. I think those are great additions to the sets you purchased.

I thought you're going to a how to mix it. If I buy those 3colors in tubes, would I be able to create the moonglow. (as in general with other colors too)?🎉❤

Oh. Sorry it wasn't quite what you were expecting. But yes, if you had the three pigments that are used in Moonglow you could mix your own. Definitely. The pigments are: PG18 + PB29 + PR177. And you've actually given me an idea for a new video. Maybe I'll go to my studio right now and see if I can mix up some MOONGLOW!! Haha. Stay tuned! :-)

Hi Jenny, thanks for this... was just checking out Moonglow because I have it, but hear that it's actually fugitive because of PR177.... what are your thoughts and thanks for any feedback

Hi Jeanne, I have heard that, however the Daniel Smith website rates this pigment with Lightfastness level #1, which is excellent. I've never run into problems...but I also seal my artwork with a UV Resistant coating. Also, this color is a mixture of three pigments, including PG18 and PB29, which are not fugitive at all. Here is their documentation: danielsmith.com/moonglow-15ml-tube-daniel-smith-extra-fine-watercolor/

It’s pretty but the red is fugitive. Try mixing your own. It is gorgeous mixed with quin coral. It looks just as beautiful when you mix it. DS along with other companies downplays the lightfastness. It’s a shame.
