That person who placed a banana on the Harvester ant pile was brave, or stupid! In 1983, an entomologist named Justin Schmidt developed a pain scale for wasp, bee, and ant insects that sting or bite (Hymenoptera). The scale goes from one (mild burning sensation, small bees are in this category) to four (oh please kill me now!). In 2015, Schmidt was co-awarded the Ig Nobel Physiology and Entomology prize with Michael Smith for their Hymenoptera research. Schmidt submitted himself to the painful bites and stings of every insect in his scale in order to rate them. The Harvester Ant clocks in at 3 (most bees and yellowjackets are a mere 2). He described the bite of the Harvester Ant as: "After eight unrelenting hours of drilling into that ingrown toenail, you find the drill wedged into the toe." I would agree, having experienced this first hand. It's way worse than the fire ant bite, because it hurts for at least a day and is so intense. We have lots of these ants on my rural California property, so I wear boots and watch where I'm walking after that lesson. I never poison anything here, especially since these ants are the main food for the horned lizard, aka "horny toad", and this is one of the few places in the SW those little darlings still exist. We have another insect here that rated a full "four" on Schmidt's scale, the Tarantula Hawk. When I see those, I go back inside, lock the doors, and board up the windows and hope it can't bore it's way through my walls into my nightmares! What it does to the poor tarantulas is pure horror show (I love tarantulas, such gentle creatures) The Tarantula Hawk sting was described by Schmidt as: "Torture. You are chained in the flow of an active volcano. Why did I start this list?" I haven't experienced the sting of this demonic monster, and pray I never do!

@1:22.....Well, yah....let's stand them all on a big slope and judging by the brickwork groat, let's stand the tall people way closer to the camera, then take it with a wide angle lens. I give that marriage 2 years tops. Already the bride's family 'diminished'
