Hey ! In this video I'll tell you a few interesting things Norwegians do that you might not know ! As a foreigner in Norway I'm still very fascinated by Norwegians and Norwegian culture. I thought this short video detailing a few interesting facts about Norwegian culture would be entertaining ! Oops I forgot to say Happy Easter to all of you ! I hope you enjoy thi festive time.

The first interesting and weird fact about Norwegians , I'll explain why they do this, Norwegians remove their shoes and leave their shoes in the entryway everytime they go into a house. One of the reasons they do this is because they don't want to make the house dirty with their shoes. As you know the weather here is not always great and people don't take too well to having their houses soiled with muddy, snowy shoes.
Norwegian coffee culture is a thing ! Norwegians love coffee and there's an art to coffee making here, when you visit a Norwegian household they generally ask you if you would like a cup of coffee whereas in the UK it is more common to ask if a guest would like a cup of tea.Norway is a nation of coffee lovers : " Coffee-drinking flourished in Norway when the country began trading its plentiful fish supplies for American beans in the 1800s.
A period of prohibition, followed by high alcohol prices that remain today, maintained its status as the social drink of choice for man. "
This quote is copy and pasted from the CNN article titled : Norway coffee culture edition.cnn.co...
The Eurovision song contest is surprisingly very popular in Norway ! The Eurovision Song Contest sometimes popularly called Eurovision or Grand PrixEach participating country submits an original song to be performed on live television and radio and then casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine the competition's winning entry. The contest has been broadcast every year for sixty-two years, since its inauguration in 1956, and is one of the longest-running television programmes in the world. It is one of the most watched non-sporting events in the world. Eurovision has also been broadcast outside Europe to several countries that do not compete, such as the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and China. An exception was made in 2015, when Australia was allowed to compete as a guest entrant as part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the event...
I reccommend that you read the following article called weird things Norwegians do : afroginthefjor... This article is from the blog a frog in the fjord. It's written by a fellow french lady living in Norway.

Hello (hallo / hei / god dag) from a male Norwegian currently living in Oslo. Interesting to hear thoughts about Norway from peoples not grown up with little real knowledge of the country. I have watched some of your YT vlogs. In most of them there are things that I consider not quite right, but not a big deal since hope peoples understand generalizations and that you still have things to discover and experience. Think of this: Is it OK to not care about other peoples time? By being late you actually show that you find yourself more important than all those that were on time, that you maybe didn't bother make an effort to avoid others to wait. Of course things can happen or you have a disorder of some kind, but for most it is poor planning or/and selfishness. If you really care you think ahead and try be on time to show respect of others (time). In business even worse, some say "time is money" ... You considered it rude to not greet with "hello" (or similar), I consider it much worse to not be on time. Ahead of time is not as bad, but if someone have things to finish then being early can mess up the schedule since then have to pay attention to you in addition to whatever ought to be done. Of course depends on the relationship and setting and so on. Hope you will have a nice life in Norway and keep enjoying making videos :)

This facts is not only for Norwegians, it´s for Scandinavia. And be on time is showing you´re respect to the person you meet and their time, anything else is rude and respectless!

It has a lot to do with psychology. Your norwegian ancestors behaviour have transferred to their children and so on. Becasue kids replicate behvaiour of their parents. Tahat explains why you often see so many similarities in families.

As a norwegian, I wonder one thing: Why is there such a crazy high number of pharmacies in France? When I was in Paris, taking the bus from the airport, I said to my sister to look out for a pharmacy, because I needed to find some pills there. Well, we arrived in the city, and all I could see was pharmacies everywhere, like litteraly everywhere! 2, 3 or 4 in each street, at least. We was in Paris quite a long time, and I got food poisoned, and very, very sick. I eventually got to the doctor (which by the way was like an 1800's doctor's office. No modern equipment, not even a computer). He prescribed my several pills, and went out on the street with me to tell me where I could find a pharmacy to get those pills. I tried to tell him not to do, because I knew the place was bombarded with pharmacies. But he didn't understand english very well, so he went out with me and pointed at a pharmacy. It was right outside the door, two pharmacies in a row. Some on the other side of the street and some in some side streets. I counted 5 pharmacies just while standing in one spot, right outside the doctor's office. On my way home I passed at least 5-10 more pharmacies. So what is the thing with France and pharmacies? I have never ever seen so many in all my life. I actually asked a norwegian friend of mine we were visiting in Paris if the pharmacies sold more than pharmacies normally would, like cigarettes or wine or something very popular people would need. But no, they did not. I wish they did sell cigarettes, because that was impossible to buy in Paris without walking all around the city looking for those few places with license to sell cigarettes. But after a while it got easier, when our nearest alimentation generale, or what they were called, agreed to sell us cigarettes (which he did hide in his car). Anyway, there are crazy many pharmacies in Paris, and I have no idea why. Do you know? In Oslo, you would more or less go looking around in several streets to find a single pharmacy. I want to go to Paris again, some time. I did love the parisians! Really, really nice people! I just wish they could stop saying bonjour to absolutely everybody absolutely everywhere. It made me crazy. So many people in Paris, and everybody would say bonjour to you. I could almost hear bonjour ringing in my ears after I got home. But as you said, we norwegians are not used to say hello to everybody, so I guess that's why I found it very annoying in the long run.

Don't let the late haters bother you girl, lol! It happens! I was actually late to a meet and greet for my favorite celebrity, lol- but he still met with me! And yep, I think it is probably in our African roots, hence the term CPT! Lol- It's really a thing! I'm not sure if that's an idiom solely used by black American culture or not, but I'm sure you can Google it if you don't know it.😉 🤣 Just discovered your vids tonight, so much fun to watch! Good job! 💕
