We got a snippet of the game and the general feels. Space. Mercenary work? Flying. 80’s synthwave. Deadpan faces while sipping on a straw. Probably a bit more action than previous ND titles. Naughty Dog really knows how to launch a trailer and create hype. The fact that so many people are praising and criticizing (legit, none of those knee jerk reactionaries) just shows that people care and want that high quality that ND is known for. I won’t say I’m excited for it (I am a bit), but I’m heavily intrigued and can’t wait to see what this game is all about.

​@@jankollofski6861 It very much is the same people though... Neil Druckman co-wrote, and was the co-lead design of Uncharted 1 & 2 (UC2 is the best in the series). He was the narrative director for the Uncharted Lost Legacy (which you've definitely missed out on if you haven't played it). He was the co-writer and the creative director of both TLOU1, and Uncharted 4. Uncharted 3 was the only one in the series that he didn't work on, and that's because he was busy creating TLOU with Josh Scherr. That's not even counting all of the senior level programmers, design leads, art directors, cinematic animation directors that have all worked across all of these games, as they advanced in their careers, and climbed the ladder within Naughty Dog. Travis McIntosh, Erick Pangilinan, John Sweeney, Emilia Schatz, etc. All of these people were responsible for the Uncharted Series and TLOU. It's pretty clear that you don't actually know what you're talking about. You just have this manufactured parroted hate, that you've co-opted and regurgitated from watching your peers on the internet. Monkey see, monkey do, I guess.

I think the trailer looks amazing... it's brilliantly cinematic, I love the literal product placement, the visuals are clean and crisp and the inclusion of a Petshop Boys song is very thematic. It makes me interested to see and know more and I'm so releived to see a new scifi, space game not called "Star 'something"!! I'm down with it. It looks fun and something I really could get immersed in.

Dismissing something based on surface-level impressions, like a book cover or a trailer, misses the bigger picture of what the story, gameplay, or experience could bring. Absolutely loved the overall mood and tone of this trailer. The sci-fi design aesthetic is spot-on; Naughty Dog’s meticulous attention to detail is looking flawless as ever. The in-game cinematic looks amazing, and the fleeting glimpse of the gameplay equally so; cannot wait for ND to reveal more of the actual gameplay mechanics. I’ve zero qualms about the central protagonist design - I think Jordan looks an interesting character. Not least of all, the dark synthy score courtesy of Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross really was a definite vibe - absolutely loving that! And as a teen of the ‘80s, I also wholeheartedly approve of the additional synth-pop; if the CD jukebox plays an occasional background role (à la GTA’s in-car radio station options), that might be kinda cool… 😎 but then again, Reznor & Ross really ought to suffice! 👍

From what I saw the game looks like it has potential. I like the 80s futuristic vibe. My first thought about the main character, "wow - that's an interesting choice". If you ask me the woman with the eye patch looked more eye catching. Literally. The world will likely be more pleasing to look at than the main character, that may be intentional. I might feel differently about the main character as her story in the game unfolds. Naughty Dog have written their characters well in past. Even if I disagreed with the overall story direction in The Last Of Us part 2. I'd give it a chance.

There's no way I'm buying a game from naughty dog after last of us 2 It was a complete waste of money. The writing only focused on surface level shock value and had no immersion with character development or world building. For example, I believe good writing will get a person to a place where they feel like crying, and the fact that I didn't get near that place when Joel died surprised me. I was so invested in that character from the first game. Even a mediocre writer could have made that a much more emotional experience. Then I was forced to play as an unlikable antagonist, which was not an enjoyable experience at all. I just kept letting the zombies kill me cause I didnt care if she lived or died, and after a few hours I realized it wasn't going to return to Ellie and I was going to be stuck playing her for a while, so I just quit playing. And I always finish a game when I start it, so that was a first. Further showing me how much I really don't like this game. And, after watching the ending on Utube, I'm so glad I quite when I did. It was such a waste of money, and I'm not exaggerating when I say the worse game I've ever played. There's no way I will buy a game from them again.

Well the character's look and personality rubbed people the wrong way. But when the criticism happened, Naughty Dog disabled the comments. That's unprofessional, and in the entertainment industry, it's important to take feedback. Remember they need us more than we need them. If we're not buying their games, then we're not giving them our hard earned money. Without us, they're nothing. They haven't gave me a reason to buy their game. So I'm just not feeling. I just don't understand why graphics are important. Gameplay should be just as important. Graphics secondary.

Why should feedback matter if it is ignorant, if you look at the comments sections of the trailer posted under ign or Playstation, it's just ppl typing “woke trash” without even giving it a chance. So it will have definitely been the same thing in the naughty dog comments sections as well. If gameplay is what you need then that's fair, but it is important to note that other people are not being very fair in their opinions towards this game for very dumb reasons.

@Emeka_ri Well I think they have some valid reasons for doing so. Because of a little game called TLOU2 which alienated their target audience. Now on the surface, yeah. The game looks pretty damn good. But if it wasn't for the Mismarketing, The overall Story direction, then it might've faired better. This is why it's important to get the people who play your games on your side. That's why feedback matters and should matter.

​@@Emeka_ri "Woke trash" is the simplified argument for why these types of proejcts are hated. An artist communicates to the audience through messages, themes and story. This allows the audience to interpret the artists's intentions. TLOU2 had a pointless story, and character relations that entirely centre around "woke" themes, so the audience reads the intent that the SOLE focus was to send woke themes, regardless of what the audience thinks of the story. That is maximum disrespect to a fanbase

Intergalactic, Witcher 4 and Ghost of Yotei will be some of the biggest gams coming out in the next few years. I am unconvinced that the industry and the outlest/press have the maturity to properly address the skewed conversation and algorithmically driven vitriol being spewed. As some one who was a major naughty dog fan before Last of Us 2. I’m excited for something new. TLoU2 for me had a very manipulative story that I just did not enjoy. I think it was well past the time for something new. Already people are making disgusting posts about the lead character in this but thats modern gaming audiences. (You is used in general not You, Lono) My issue with trying to give space to these people is, when I was younger all I wanted was a black character in a video game who wasn’t either generic military guy or a gang member. And I remember in the early days of forums, posting about that. All I ever heard was “it won’t sell” “why does it matter it’s just a video game.” And now, when there are characters of every walk of life, every shade and hue, suddenly… I’m supposed to feel bad because every game doesn’t have generic white guy as the lead. Ever noticed how games pre-2019 were better written? It’s because of DEI hires. I DO NOT care about the race of the character, just don’t push agendas that don’t align with real life much. When’s the last time you’ve seen a bald, asian, masculine woman, who is into retro future?

I dont believe something is instantly woke just because there is a female lead or an unattractive female or whatever but I do tend to choose games to play that either have a character creator or a choice to play as a male, simply bc that's what I am. Especially in rpg's where I like to be as immersed as possible in the role and the world around me.

I've got 3 problems with this trailer: 1 - I hate the music. I get that it's retro or whatever, it's gross. 2 - Why am I being shown a game with no gameplay? Why am I being shown a game concept through a cutscene movie? 3 - The custcene movie is uninteresting. Tells me about 1 part of the story and nothing else. Lame. Why are game trailers regressing?

I get very heavy new Dante of DmC vibes with the main protagonist and I hope they are going to be much better as we find out more of the game. That straw drink is just way too obnoxious and in your face. I will give ND benefit of the doubt as a big fan of their previous games(Sans TLOU2) but I hope it isn't a game that is great besides with the character(s) where they are huge turnoffs whenever they are on.

I’m simply “meh” on what they showed. References feel superficial, barely showed me any significant gameplay and the style felt like so many references bashed together that it doesn’t have an identity of its own yet. Not writing it off, but I didn’t see anything that sticks in my mind beyond retrofuture vibes. Cool, that’s fashionable again. Now DO something unique with it.

Druckman's comments about games, the fact the TLOU2's story is a failure, where the narrative focus of TLOU2 was and why a good story seemed to be a last priority for the studio...

The actress is tati Gabrielle she isnt good at all. Her last best role was Sabrina the netflix show. After that show she acts the same way in every ahow. She is doing it again with this same personality type. I am very skeptical on her playing this role.

I generally can’t tell if the actual complaints are genuine or not cause they’re either for dumb reasons or some dumb ass culture war that people participate I think intergalactic looks nice and the product placement just doesn’t really bother me, especially when you read up the fact that the the game basically takes place in our world but is different considering they reach space travel by 1986 so brands like Porsche would probably be around plus who doesn’t think a space Porsche isn’t cool

Theres been plenty of strong female character leads in gaming. A female lead in this game is a non issue for me. Theres not enough info on the game for me to pass judgement on it. Naughty dog hasnt let me down so theres no reason to think they will with this game.

I have to disagree, Last of Us Part 2 was just horrible. It's a classic example of a critics darling. Game reviewers and journalists, who are just casual gamers at best, love it because it's constructed almost exactly for them but most actual gamers hated it for its forced message and story. Not to mention it's complete disrespect of the 1st game, which was not a "masterpiece" as so many claim. The Last of Us series suffers from linear gameplay, unoriginal and simplistic gun combat mechanics, and nonchallenging level design.

If you arent going discuss the core issue then there is no point in covering the topic. We have to be honest there is a MASSIVE amount of social politics in all forms of media and gaming was the last "safe" space and now its there too and people are fed up. I treasure female protagonists, I saw my mom 5'2" mom knock out a 6ft man but even I have to admit the way most female leads are being done right now sucks and there is an over abundance of them and they are almost all the same character persona.

I grew up playing uncharted 1-3. I love naughty dog games. 4 is my favorite game ever. I loved the last of us 1 and 2. I love lost legacy. I even liked the vita game. But I don’t like the trailer for intergalactic. People need to stop acting like character design isn’t important. If that was the case then why do people buy skins in games? Why do we have transmog in rpgs? Why do we have character creators? And why are there so many people who do cosplay as their favorite characters at conventions? There is an art to character design. And this Jordan character in intergalactic just doesn’t seem appealing visually at all. The vibe of the trailer is very intriguing, the music is sick, the colors are vibrant, and I like the new sci fi direction, but if I have to play as that character for 20-50 hours it’s going to be a slog,

@ Who said anything about movies? Who said anything about them looking the same? Stop putting words in my mouth. Use your brain and read what I said again. You want to talk shows and movies? I just watched arcane season 2. That show has some of the best character design I’ve ever seen in any medium. Mel is a black woman and instead of looking like an ogre she looks incredible from the golden specks and golden armor plating her outfit, then you have her mom who looks like a Spartan, Vi isn’t a traditional looking woman but she still looks cool, and she has one of my favorite looks in her black brawler outfit. It’s based off the crow. Jinx’s design is iconic and she doesn’t look traditionally beautiful either but she just has an awesome design. And I didn’t even mention ekko, victor, etc. The point isn’t that they need to be attractive, but that they need to look cool and appealing. If you don’t understand that appealing doesn’t always equal attractive then you need to educate yourself.
