It would be cool to know what happened in all the abandoned towns, burned down towns, the native american school, some more back story on the abandoned houses and shacks, it would be cool to meet the people that lived in them in side missions and know what happened, the ufo house, and what happened in blackwater. It would be cool to experience seasons and natural disasters in the game that actually affect the character, I remember riding on the ice on one of the lakes thinking the horse would be too heavy and the ice would break, would be cool to make that a little more realistic. Also would be nice to know the back story of some of the corpses found throughout the game.

Rdr3 should take place before rdr2 where you play as Hosea. You spend the majority of the game gathering members for the gang with Dutch and Aurthur and you learn every member’s backstory. They should have it where Hosea becomes great friends, almost even brothers, with Mac and/or Davey since very little is revealed about them in rdr2. The game should end in the blackwater heist that kicked off rdr2, where Mac and davey ultimatly sacrifice their lives in order to save the gang from the Pinkertons.

I’d love to play as a younger Landon Ricketts. You could create a whole new story and a whole new map for him. Would be cool to go even further west to California, and Pacific Northwest type environments. Like the Sonoran desert is the east side of the map and the Pacific Ocean is on the west. You could include Mexico again potentially. They could even throw in a scene where you may encounter young Hosea or Dutch if they haven’t exhausted those characters enough already

I still believe RDR3 should be about the origins of the gang and it ends around the time of the BW Massacre. Also think it could be about a completely different outlaw such as Black Belle or Calloway. There is an Easter egg where you can find John Marston’s hat in Black Belle’s cabin which could be a nod to a potential protagonist for the next chapter to the franchise.

I definitely feel like that story is over the entire Vanderlinde. Gang story is done. We don’t need to go back in time to learn about their origins of where they came from or about the Blackwater massacre. We already have that information My idea is that we just get a whole different cast of characters and a new, setting I much prefer to experience a brand, new story and grow with some brand new characters. I want to see what rockstar can do with storytelling with characters we hardly know again.

there are a few missions in rdr2 with hosea where he says that he's been in "these parts" (referring to the rdr2 map) before with Bessie or whoever it was. I like to think that this could be a possible setting for rdr3. but there isn't much context given about it so I think it's quite unlikely

I remember when Red Dead 1 came out , but I didn't hear much about it or think that it was anything spectacular . I didn't find out about Red Dead 2 until a couple years after it had been released and figured I would give it a try . Loved the story up until Arthur gets killed and then looked into Red Dead 1 and understood why they had you continue in RD2 as John . I have played through multiple times and I still keep finding new things in the game . I agree, this is the best video game I have ever played but wish there was a way to make decisions in the game that allows Arthur to live . But since John dies in RD1 , I guess that is the theme for the game . Which makes me wonder if they will do the same with RD3, have you play as one character who dies and then switch to Arthur at the end of the game .

I honestly want a new/remake Red Dead Revolver game with modern graphics like RDR2. I would love that so much and if not that I would love a RDR3 where you play as young Dutch & Hosea on how they start their gang. Or hell even a whole new gang/characters alltogether that has nothing to do with the van der linde gang set in peak wild west like 1850-1880. I don't really want a Jack Marston continuation game, since it makes zero sense to call it Red Dead then since "Red Dead" is another way to refer to outlaw cowboys as. And he will most likely serve in the war and it's too modern and wild west is pretty much over at this point.

US Military and then jack comes back only to realize the the Pinkertons formally now the FBI was after jack Marston for the murder of ross in 1907 now jack must fight his way through the western United States and get him and his family to Canada where the FBI cant get them where Jack and his family live out there days happily ever after most if the western United States still looked the same as it did in the 1800s just a few model T cars driving around but people still mainly used horses bc cars were still far and few in between

I think about a possible story beginning with the end of RDR1 and continuing with Jack Marston becoming a full adult, starting writing the GTA 5 "Red Dead" book and from this point the narrative can go back until the formation of Van der Linde gang as written by Jack Marston in his book. So basically a game with two stories intermingling variously, one of Jack Marston adult and the other of Van der Linde gang as he recounts in his book.

RDR1 ended the RD saga perfectly (and I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that noone wants to play as Jack going forward; it would feel too detached/modern) although I would love R* to release 1+ Undead Nightmare remastered on PC RDR2 is seamless absolute perfection; nuff said. They should close the book on the Van Der Linde gang and start over fresh with a story in the 1850s-1860s. I couldn't care less about a western game set after 1914. And Hosea's and Dutch's stories are told. There's nothing to add onto that.

unpopular opinion but sadie is such a generic and weirdly written character. A woman turned widowed badass who snapped and wants to kill the people who killed her husband... she got her redemption already. Charles would probably be a better choice but even then he's just not main character material. My idea was for a young Landon Ricketts from when he first started gunslinging to his prime or when he fled to Mexico. Either that or a completely new character

I think RDR3 will play before the events of RDR2, you could maybe play a member of the Van der Linde gang who died/escaped during the Blackwater massacre (as it is typical RDR, that the main protagonist dies at the end) and we could have a nice wild west storyline where the gang rises up and then eventually has a downfall with this blackwater heist, and after that the events of rdr2 start to happen

I'd like having a game that takes place in 1898-1899, with the player playing as Mac Callender and divided in 3 chapters: Chapter 1, first Blackwater, Chapter 2, the mountains and meeting Charles, Micah and Jenny, chapter 3, Blackwater 2, playing some of the Hosea and Arthur's scam and as last mission is the Blackwater Massacre. Mac might get his redemption somehow, and, depending on his honor, he gets brutally killed by Agent Milton, or left to Die (pretty much like Arthur). Landon Ricketts is there and buries Mac. The epilogue takes place in Mexico, where we play as Landon Ricketts protecting the civilians. Then, not to mess with Rdr2 story, we can only play West Elizabeth, New Austin and Mexico, like in rdr1.

RDR3 def needs to be about the genesis of the Van Der Linde gang. It’s a game about cowboys and Jack Marston was at the end of that era. I do like to *think* that next RDR shall take place in 1920's pre-depression years, jazz and speakeasies, automatic weapons taking place, prohibition, industrialisation, mafia in big cities, bootleggers in countryside, last breath of Old West in outskirts. I’d like to see Arthur & John as boys when the join Dutch & Hosea. Switching around between characters like GTA 5. The genesis of what becomes the Vanderlind gang. Coukd explore Arthur & Mary, John’s Hiatus and romance with Abigail, the birth of Jack and the arrival and intergration of other members (Sean, Matt, Pearson, Karen etc). Game could finish with the Blackwater massacre which leads us into red dead if we’re willing to skip periods of time as John and Arthur go from Boys to adolescents to adults.

I believe if it follows the Blackwater massacre and before the Blackwater massacre, then we're going to get a game similar to Max Payne 1-3, where there is no freeroam.

Red Dead Redemption is about the fall of the West and by 1914(the end of RDR) the West had already fallen, this tells me that rdr3 should not be about Jack. What I think it should be about is 1. Landon Ricketts’ past 2. A return of Red Harlow(Ik Rockstar clarified that Red Dead Revolver was in a separate universe but that doesn’t totally mean he doesn’t exist in RDR). 3. Instead of RDR3 it would be RDR Remastered, but they should tweak the dialogue and have mentions of Arthur, Sadie, Charles, Hosea, and all the other members they didn’t mention, they should also maybe do what they did with CODMW2(like when ghost actually didn’t die in the new ones) and make that a high honor ending for John where he doesn’t die. My 4th idea is quite a stretch but they could also make a new Red Dead game about the government catching up with Jack 3-4 years later but instead of killing him they make him fight in WW1. RDR 3 will be again a prequel. You will play as Davey Callander, see and get to know all gang members. It ends and concludes the trilogy with Daveys death in colter. ✌️

I think the proble, with RD online was that it didn't release at the same time as the sotry game, and was then basiclaly given to us the same way GTA online was way back when GTA5 came out. The problem with that approach was that when GTA online released, there was no other game to go play online, when RDO released, and there wasn't much to do, many people just went back to playing GTA online

Okay hear me out, RDR3 starts with Arthur's father. Has his own adventure on this wilder west maybe further west. We get to see how he dies and how Arthur gets his hat, that would be around 50-60% of the story and we get to play as Arthur in the early days of the gang. How awesome could that be? I don't get why Arthur's father almost never comes up as the main protagonist conversations when it could have the richest content.

I want rd3 to be the start of Van der linde gang and Arthur, Hosea and Dutch are the playable characters kinda similar to GTA V where there's three playable characters.

I believe that RDR 3 will be released in 2026 (after GTA6, 2025) if the information about the Rockstars' s employee is true. Look at the information he put on his Linkdn, you can see Rockstar started developing RDR3 in 2019/2020 and it gonna be really a big game from Rockstar.

Few things I want in RDR3: 1. Ability to buy weapons at any point, and don’t have to wait, unless it’s like incredibly rare or something 2. Make money mean more or at least be a bit harder to come by. 2.2 Give more opportunities to get higher yields with more dangerous, harder options (make trains actually have safes and such, but more heavily guarded) but also make your morality tied to it. 3. Make running in camp Easier to do 4. More freedom in mission without losing the great stories of the missions 5. Everything NakeyJakey said

Rdr3 should be playing as dutch founding the gang - blackwater massacre , then epilogue focuses on jack.

Personally I’m in favor of RDR3 being set further back in the 19th century. Maybe further north with settings similar to deadwood South Dakota and the gran Teton/Yellowstone part of the country and then gradually introduce the mountain range throughout the game. What could be another setting is the Mexican American war. I think it would be super cool if rockstar even took it a different route and had the story focus on indigenous tribes slowly being pushed westward. I think there is so much potential there. In addition to that you can also use that storyline there are tribal wars, the battle of Little Bighorn or even some similar aspects to the film dances with wolves.
