In this video, I will present to you the “japandi style” interior design trend. I will share with you 6 tips on how to design a space with this interior design style. I will talk about the color palette, furniture, materials, and some ideas to design your home like a pro with this hybrid style.
Many of you ask me if you can mix and match different styles. In fact, sometimes two interior design styles are better than one to create a perfect balance.
Japandi is the fusion between the timeless elegance of Japanese aesthetics and the modern Scandinavian style. It’s a hybrid style where two different styles act together to create a perfectly balanced space.
I hope you’ll enjoy and use this information to create a comfortable and stylish interior!

Beautiful Japanese inspired design indeed. Will you please at some point feature African and/or Brazilian inspired design and decor with the stunning colors? Thank you. Most of the KZbin designs are either European or Asian inspired. Brazil is a huge country and Africa is a immense continent with 54 countries. They are RARELY featured. Also, just wondered where you are from? Your accent is distinctive.

I will love to make a video about those styles, 😍I love diversity and I appreciate how each culture develops its styles through its culture, climate, and traditions. By the way, the Brazilian style is one of my favorites, it has a unique warmth, elegance, and freshness. Thanks for the inspiration and suggestion. My accent is due to my native language is Spanish, I'm Latina. ❤️ Thanks for sharing Barbara!

@@dalereid4199 Yes, I agree. African countries like Morocco, South Africa, and Ghana also Brazil include rich and vibrant colors with alot of soul to the home. When a room is ALL beige the room feels/seems cold like a showroom. I have traveled to six different countries in Africa. I am an American so my home design is an elegant traditional style with elements/accents of African artwork, baskets, and sculptures added,. However not overdone to the point where my home looks like an African safari lodge. By the way Mexican and Spanish(from the country Spain) incorporate beautiful colors and style as well.

Japandi would be only for me if I had my own land with mature trees and the trees would perfectly match Japandi. Hope one day my dream come true. I grow up in the middle of the forest in a wooden house and I lost it for a while since my grandparents have died and my mother sold the house for herself. Now Iam walking at the forest right at my door daily, and it’s very satisfying, I love it, no matter what weather it is. 😁My grandma is in my thoughts all the time, she was and is the best ever!!!

Japandi design really intrigues me. I favor industrial looks with its darker palette but I also enjoy the clean and simple look of Scandanavian design. This is such a nice meld of the two and it does not look trendy. To me, it resembles mid-century modern with specific focus on color and texture.
@DSigners
@DSigners 4 жыл бұрын
It's a very good observation, they look a bit similar, mainly in the color palette and by the use of authentic pieces. I think the most notable difference is the wabi-sabi concept used in Japandi, where we see rustic elements within the composition.

This is the style I've chosen intuitively long ago. Now I just know the name of it. I think Japandi requires respect due to it's genuine materials, forms and quality. But it also gives serenity in reward creating a good space for both body and mind.. It's a connection to Nature translated into interior design. I love it.

I naturally achieved the Japandi design, I eliminated all tall furniture in my room and stick to simple designs to make it appear bigger and lighter, I like natural materials and muted colors ( I like some stronger colors like yellow and teal but they somehow feel off in this room, might incooperate them once I got multiple rooms to design). I am learning more about interior designs because as a minimalist I am now really enjoying the creative process of decorating my space, (I used to avoid any unnecessary items and clutter but I eased up on the minimalist label I put on myself as it felt imbalanced).

I love the japandi style. I think it works for the lifestyle I like to live. Not only do I enjoy the japanese culture but I don't like buying a lot of different decorative things. I do believe in quality over quantity so it's nice to see it demonstrated in this video. I also value functionality and comfortability and these demonstrations made each space feel welcoming and comfortable! Also, my house is a dodecagon. There isn't a straight wall inside it so this style would work much easier than a more cluttered style with many decorative pieces. The house in itself is a piece of art to me so what way to better show it off then with a minimal style such as this!! Thank you for the video!! I absolutely love these above all other channels. I find so much information and value in each!
@DSigners
@DSigners 4 жыл бұрын
❤️Thank you very much for your comment and beautiful message Catherine. I love your style! I love the observation you make that the house itself is a work of art and this is what minimalism and the concept of "less is more" really pursue, seek balance and highlight the volumes, geometry, and details that make up the essence of space. Seeing beauty in the simple and valuing the essence of things is crucial for these styles, it is seen that you are a pro.😍

Mark and I really like the Japandi style for staging purposes especially. For my own home, we prefer a little more decor on the walls.

Hi Paula! 😍 To give personality and style to the space, it seems an excellent idea to include more wall decoration. Sounds very good! Thanks for sharing!

This is interesting. My parents home was a perfect Japandi design, and that was back in the late 1960's and 1970's-on. My dad's hobby was bonsai trees and they had Japanese touches all through their Danish Modern furniture home.

medium and darker woods plus the use of black is very common in Scandinavia not just in Japan or Japandi- although white walls are very popular in Scandinavian design furniture are often black and medium tone wood-not all light wood, plus the chair you show the "wishbone" wegner you can get in Denamrk in many colors 34 different combinations in total -the all light is just one look (usually single romantic woman)
