I'm trying to do the same with my 300 E 1992. Trying to have it fully operational . As you say, a second live with a new owner. Congratulations; very nice and well cared mercedes!

Those E300 are great engines, common problems are head gasket ( rear passanger side corner ) leakeng oil and timing chain cover U shape gasket
