I had this same exact car, but it was a sedan, and it was nothing but a headache. It was constantly in the shop, mostly due to engine malfunctions. The most common check engine problem I had with that vehicle was a misfire code in cylinder #1. I also had an issue with the front axle cracking, which had to be welded. This was an all to common problem with this generation of Mercedes vehicles. I was so glad to have finally sold it. I then bought a Lexus, and it lasted me for years without any problems.

Nice video I also own e320s and w212 e350 the e320 engines running like having a knock but it’s normal if you hear valvetrain noise try to change that plastic rail oil rail good luck 👍

After changing the oil and giving the car a good few high RPM revs, the noise went away. I assume something was stuck from the car sitting so long and revving it cleared it up

These cars do have potential coolant mix in trans issues. Trans cooler in attached to the rad .

True. I was referring to the Valeo radiator issues from ‘03 though. Luckily the w210’s weren’t affected to my knowledge. I took a sample of the trans fluid to get tested though anyways for peace of mind

Awesome! Can’t wait to see this bad boy come back to life. See if you can find some black carpet for it and swap that in. Would make a huge difference. I never understood why they came with beige carpet or light grey carpet!

Replace the brake light switch, super cheap and cause crazy lights on dash when they go bad.

May I ask what paint code your S210 is? That green is my favorite W210 color. I will be replacing some body panels on mine and repainting it at some point and I’m thinking of painting it that color

You're right about that,ever since the introduction of the (W201) baby Benz and W124 Platform sibling in early 1980s, build quality and reliability of Mercedes is a joke, endless money pits of short interval: new/repeat repairs,and attribute of deliberate-poor engineering.

Yes I ended up replacing the conductor plate and electrical connector. I don’t believe I did that in this video

The alignment is so off. But w210 is quite picky for alignment, so try different tire store. I found the correct person at third try

I literally just bought a 1999 e320 for 900$ coukdnt pass it up it has a cylinder 1 and 5 misfire and overheats skemtimes it stopped running one time I don’t know much about cars what should I do ? The coolant and oil are mixing idk how though

It’s possible the heads warped due to the engine overheating. I’d look around for a used engine to drop in

They were unbranded. I bought them on eBay. They’re similar to the ones you’d find at a local auto parts store
