I now want to use “tut-tut” more often. I clearly haven’t been using it enough in my conversations. I love how formal it is. Haha. “Hey, did you know that…?” “Tut-tut! Quiet, please!” This is going to be GREAT. Useful lesson, Gill. These are all super important in conversations. Everyone, don’t forget “Huh?” if you don’t understand something.
@aroibas19 жыл бұрын
+English Lessons with Alex (engVid AlexESLvid) I don't understand 'I now'. It means either you want say 'tut-tut' more often or you want to know how to use it usually. Are you a bully? Do you know how to fight? 'tut-tut' is rude,are you prepared for the results? I don't think so. P.S.- Why do you that? Pester your colleagues. (Your 'new method' =bollocks.)
@engvidAlex9 жыл бұрын
+ALBERTO MANUEL FERREIRO PEREZ I mean that I would like to use it more in conversation. My comment was not meant to pester Gill. It was to compliment her.

Dear Gill, you are great! trod on your foot , you said and I said, what?! trod? then after some research I said, ha! trod is the past simple of tread.I knew the word from this:I have spread my dreams under your feet; tread softly because you tread on my dreams..wow! now I know -tread-is irregular word and I am not going to forget it. Brilliant!

Dear teacher Gill! You explain lessons systematically, so learners are able to grab every point with ease. So, I would like to make a request you; please prepare a detailed lesson for "BEING" because "BEING"is used in different ways, so please pay your attention on it. I wish you all the best! Good Luck!

I am so sad not to have found this video bit more earlier. As a teacher, Mrs.Gil is amazing without any mention. Especially she is trying her best to explain the meaning of some words even with her body language. If she is not satisfied, she keep trying. ^^ On the other hand however, it is bit hard to concentrate cause she keep reminding me of Ricky Gervais.^^

Good vid! Yes, interjections, in other word "exclamations", are very useful to make a conversation more conversational, powerful & so on. I know those aren't all of interjections, so I have to keep on learning interjections on my own.

It's so wonderful you have made a video about interjections! I once made a reaserch on this topic at my university. They are breaking the whole system down when you trying to classify them 😁 You probably won't be able to state their function in the sentence not to mention that sometimes you can't even call them words! Perhaps, I'd even suggest you make more videos about them 😊

While speaking about "What!", I realized that there are many interjections in internet communication. Of course, WTF is not polite so as many others, but regarding to the fact, that abbreviations like that are so common... . As I am not a native speaker, encoding these abbreviations is usually very difficult. Unless you know it before. I am not sure if some lesson like that exists already. In this case, pls., let me know. :-)
