@@jecksfoxofficial Well, that's kind of the thing: Anomi is an extremely experienced veteran SFM user, and this bug is very noticeable in the final product. There is basically no shot that he left this in by accident, or didn't know how to fix it (Since it's well known to the point of being memed in the SFM author community, e.g. "These lights are satan!"). Also, as noted, the bug is related to cubemaps. And we have several instances in this ARG where the game is forced to rebuild cubemaps before crashing.

So, Eida possibly captured 7 umbrella men to be just a tool in his shed. If he hadn't quit, all of this would've never happened and he would have been the only one to have known the Interloper.

Whilst trying to recreate "wrong_turn.vmf" which if you didn't know is the Umbrella man's theme that you sometimes hear when it either chases you or is stalking you, I made a discovery. The actual theme itself is a distorted variant of an unused soundtrack in portal 2 simply called "Apple." I was messing around with it in FL studio when I realized that if you pitch down Apple by exactly 666 cents, you get wrong_turn. *How interesting.*

It's likely to be significant, since it establishes another link between Eida (Who most likely wrote this text, and is thus probably Norwegian) and Fsky (Which was almost certainly a Norwegian company, since what little we see of their URL seems to end with ".no"). So it's basically reinforcing something which we already assumed.

I wonder if it's possibly more significant than that, being that it's in that hollow cube. Assuming Eida made and wrote that message, what if it's almost like a label for Mona, saying this is her home now. The fact the floor is the same checker flooring and the single light that is in his goodbye video, then also an error model coming towards and crashing the player, much like how an error model deleted Mona. And the crash even directs the light data to Jan's/Eida's computer directory. I might be completely off base though.

Eida is such a great part of the series. He’s basically doing everything right but for the wrong reasons. He’s intertwined with the story and has connections to fsky, he’s generated some of the most interesting demos, and he’s even captured an entity, but the entire time he’s doing it he’s assuming it’s a ghost and a supernatural phenomenon and he lets his confirmation bias take over and assumes that the entity is named “Mona”

What I love about interloper is that not only is it technical and ran by a person who has vast experience in the source engine in general, but also is completely interactive when he released the Tuesday Manifest. Even when I explored it myself I was shocked by the amount of demos, the movements and the actions, the type 5, and the hard-coded bugs in some of them. It's incredible how well made and well thought this entire thing is.

The fact that crashers and DMnpcs come from the same thing does put the "are you trapped?" demo into a new perspective. Cause in it, we see a DMnpc being kept from going to "yes" while the camera just goes off into the void. Maybe the camera is actually the perspective of a crasher that decided to go into the void, but made sure to trap the DMnpc's movement before it left for whatever reason. This also raises the question, seeing that video as well as the heavy video, if crashers are unable to delete their own DMnpc. It would explain why the crasher couldn't delete the distorted heavy, and why the potential crasher from "are you trapped?" had to inhibit the DMnpc's movement instead of just deleting it outright.

fun fact about the csgo type 5, not only is the low texture office below the map the counter strike source version, but if you take the time to painfully sit through the actual demo file. instead of "goodbye" being sent once in chat. 1:23:09 The moment the Sequence FourTwo was doing was called Anatomy of a World, I emediately thought of "Anatomy of a House" Where a house or the concept of it is equalized to a body and rooms that serve a bodily purpose. Not sure if this is seen or not, but the "Heavy Donut" has a striking resemblance to early and mid 1990's animation-music demos done by creators like Trition and Future crew. They were designed to push the limits of esrly computers so far that they would overheat or damage themselves, most times running unstable. Triton's "Crystal Dream" and "Crystal Dream II" have rendered donuts similar to the heavy donut, floating in a skybox. Perhaps its a jab at older rendering or maybe fsky demos, but I don't know.

One of my ideas is that when the DM NPC at BeachDance says "hi", they are using VC, but it doesn't render since it isn't primarily a multiplayer game, I think DM NPCs can play audio using the VC (possibly through learning that they can send/receive Voice Chat packets), which could possibly lead to the fact that the npcs play invalid sounds, because they aren't using VC

Whilethe first one was a superticious and sensible person who instantly though the game was haunted because of his beliefs, the second (anomi) it's an OG investigator and know exactly how the source engine works, so every jumpscare or scare thing in the videps he is just like: great! Something tells me that Anomidae(in cannon) is far more of a mystery than was even covered in this video. So far all of the characters except 2 have been named: We have Lucy, who seems to be an important if not the leading member of Project Skybox, Jan, known as Eidam0na, and Johan, or Jman, who voice acted for Jan on his channel, which is a highly suspicious detail in my opinion. The two characters that we dont have a name for? 7localsource, who hasnt had enough importance in the story to actually be relevant to the cannon, and Anomidae himself. I believe there is enough information to form a hypothesis(*NOT* a theory) that Eidam0na could, in lore, be an old channel run by Anomidae. There are enough counter arguements you could make that I say this on shaky ground, but it would explain how Anomidae is seemingly so well connected on this mystery from the beginning. Starting off on the suspicious activity of Anomidae, he finds an old Half Life 2 forum post about a suspicious umbrella man decal, and then *JUST* so happens to go investigate it at a time where the decal would be there. I find this detail highly suspect, as we know now that not only is he hiding things from us, but that this would be an *incredibly* lucky find. Moreover, in the next video he appears to already be working with the Project: Skybox crew given the fact he seems to be talking to Lucy. You could theorize that they later became founding members, but then that calls into question why they've honed in on the Interloper theory and the seemingly barely connected Digivisions Showcase 22 and not any other mysteries. On top of this, the Project: Skybox crew seems to have access to DMNPCs and possibly even the DM Editor given the things weve seen with the Lucy model, which would be very strange for Anomidae to just *not* tell us about after he *immediately* shot it down as a "hoax" in one of this earliest videos and then just never addressed the program again even after the community next to proved it exists. Moving onto the reason I say he could be Eidam0na, I want to point out that Eida seemed to have been a very, *very* young youtuber. Their videos are very amateurish, the kind you would see a kid who couldnt do much produce. Eida asked Jman, who would likely be an older friend(online or off, it is unclear), to voice his videos, which implies theres a reason he didnt want to voice it himself, possibly because if a young kid was tackling a very serious investigation it would get overlooked. Additionally, he is very superstitious about the event, like a kid looking for Herobrine. He is also prone to personal biases, and as his meltdown shows his emotions are very unstable. Finally, for a reason why in-lore Anomidae may want to distance himself from the Eidam0na channel is because of the Mona event specifically. Him being older and more mature, he might realize the full extent of what happened then *now* and may be trying to bury that because of it being a fucked up little skeleton in his closet. Overall, Im not saying that this is definitively what is happening, as this is really shaky and not a hill even Im going to stand on, but I feel like throwing this possibility out there just because I find the idea very *interesting* to say the least.

It felt like information that would lead to confirmation bias rather than something that would add to the overall narrative. Thank you for bringing it up though, I wanted to point it out as a small detail without detracting from my argument, but by the time I remembered it I would have had to rewrite the entire thing to make it fit how I would have liked.

I gotta wonder about the 'sentience' of the A.I. Is it a convincing facade or is it true conscious? And if it is full conscious what contexts are these unfortunate creatures aware of? Does a tf2 scout act like he does in other media? Are the civillians convinced this is just more combine fuckery? The way the terrorist in dust acts it leads me to believe they have to have some kind of "personality" but the extent of that intregues me so. And makes ' The Mona' so much worse.

I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE SAME THINGS!!! Maybe it's somehow connected to "The anatomy of the world" of Division '91. Maybe there are "layers" or existence (of npcs, fictional characters and us). Maybe the "real world" is a baseline, then goes "engine layer" which is semi sensible, semi real, and then a "fictional" layer where everything is possible but also not real. At least for us. Maybe these trapped npcs have a conscious from the higher fictional layer, all their lives they thought they were real and alive, but they were dragged into this illusional prison of source engine and were treated as lesser entities... Maybe it was similar to what Eida was saying about "unborn spirits" or whatever.

The interesting thing about this series is the amount and diferent types of demos that they exist(for now). At the moment i know at least 7 types of Demos that were generated. I'll leave a list of all of them and the sub-types. --- Type 1: - Flailing - Type 2: - out of bounds - Type 3: - aimless - Type 4: - generic gameplay - Type 5: (now here are two sup types). Type 5A: - DMNPC - (when a demo is generated with a Dynamic NPC) Type 5B: - Structure -(this is when the Interlope commands generates a new place that wasn't made in game but it was generated). Type 6:[Type 6A: -Umbrella-(POV from the umbrella man) [Type 6B: -Crasher- (POV from the Crasher entitiesp Type 7: -Hybrid-(this is one of the rarest of the all{[for now]}, this new type generates a random Type 3/4 or even a type 2. But it has a really small chance to become new type. The only existance as of now is the TF2 demo with a type 3 using Heavy)

I'm glad to see someone mention Saints Row 2's Freezer crash. Personally I haven't experienced it, but there's a bunch of misconceptions and stuff surrounding it. Breaking your game beyond repair was only reported to occur on the Physical Disc version of it, causing the actual Disc to become damaged. Specifically on Xbox 360 this was reported on, and I doubt new copies of Saints Row 2 are still being made to test that out on. On other platforms like Steam, you can just verify your games integrity. A while ago, a KZbinr I watched did a video where they went on to "Debunk" it as a hoax but failed to account for various factors. The theory I believe for the Freezer, is that in the Zombie mini-game for Saints Row 2, Cars and NPCs are not meant to spawn besides the zombies and survivors in the game mode. When outside of that area, that code to prevent regular NPCs from spawning is still there, but the game is still probably trying to force spawn NPCs to populate the city. My best guess is, eventually it succeeds in spawning an NPC which conflicts with code for the Zombie minigame, and causes the game to freak out resulting in a crash.

a theory i've seen is that it's not physical copies that fuck up, but physical copies played on _original model 360s_ y'remember the classic red ring of death? if you've never heard of the cause of it, the long and short of it was the fact that the original 360 produced a _lot_ of heat and did _not_ effectively vent it, eventually causing internals to give out from thermal stress just from normal operation. which raises the question: if normal operation is enough to cause heat damage that severe, what might happen if the console is forced beyond its limits for a significant amount of time? see, the fact that you go out of the map during the _zombie_ minigame is an important part of the freezer glitch, since it lets those zombie npcs pile up due to nothing killing them. and they're trying to find their way to you. and you're in a place they can't reach, leading to their pathfinding trying absolutely everything until it just gives up for the frame. and all the while, the strain on the hardware is piling up at a steady rate, producing more and more heat from the cpu and gpu. and the funny thing about computer hardware is that when it starts physically coming apart, the software can starts _really_ freaking out like, say, the lighting engine failing to properly calculate the player character's shadow, so you just see a massive one plastered on a nearby wall despite being incongruent with the current lighting oh, and then the cheap disc drive finally succumbs to the heat and the disc inside it just gets _wrecked,_ and if the game wasn't already five seconds from crashing, having to deal with a sudden surge of corrupted data _because the disc it was streaming that data from is actively being damaged beyond repair_ is certainly going to do it in before you can blink. but that's why seeing the freezer doesn't ... actually freeze your game. like, any time it's recorded, you can clearly see the thing on-screen for several frames before the game actually goes down, unlike your typical game-crashing rendering error that will bring the crash on frame 1 of being rendered. because really, the freezer isn't causing anything; it's just a symptom of what's about to brick your disc and, potentially, your console admittedly, this is only something i've seen someone else bring up, but it seems feasible to me. that said, if there _is_ one thing i suspect, it's the freezer being the consequence of the _failing hardware_ specifically, as that should mean it wouldn't occur on any other hardware other than the original 360 and also ... it's kinda wierd to imagine a semi-consistent consequence of _the gpu melting itself?_ perhaps it's more feasible that the buildup of zombies just so happens to cause a memory leak in the game's software itself, which leads to the lighting engine getting fucked up and eventually plastering the freezer on a nearby wall. if that's the case, the freezer could likely be a fairly innocuous glitch that ended up associated with physically ruining your copy of the game just because the trigger for it happened to coincide with you effectively setting your console on fire. as you do
