The Mini-PCIe slot is for a 4G/LTE modem card. Also, it has options for external antennae with the right pigtail cable (either MMCX or U.FL to RP-SMA)

Audio was still good in this video. 🙂 I like the look of this device. I don't think the is an Australian version available at the moment. The speeds you were quoting are pretty good for 4G LTE. I find that is about the eBay we can get here as well, even with high end equipment. I am definitely interested in seeing more about this or similar devices.

is there no option for adding external antennas? also, how are the antennas installed? how many do we have for LTE and how many for home wireless network? (am i right to assume that the antennas are dedicated to either LTE or 2.4/5GHz for home wireless coverage? they can't be supporting both functions ate the same time?!)

Great brief review As it seems, you are really good at Mikrotik Stuff. so I have a question about Routeros Is there any solution to run something like DMVPN on Routeros? and connect branches to HQ and exchange Routes and data for example? This topic is very interesting to me, if others viewers agree, talking about it would be GREAT Thanks

Hi. What would your recommendation be for a long range internet solution for an expedition vehicle needing to maximise its chance of picking up 4G internet in a remote region, and broadcasting via wifi for about 15 on board devices? Please post any affiliate link I may be interested in.

Hmmm, ever thought of doing your own directional like a Yagi and then I believe there's sites and apps that list the Euro carrier towers since there's some for the US based towers and pointing it at a tower to see if you can get even more signal/consistency in literally the middle of nowhere (or wherever in the country side where you live, lol) if Yagi pointed at nearest one?

Hee, prachtig product.

Hey, so I was testing the audience lte6 (i suppose its the same pcie card as LTAP lte6?) today... and I saw I was connected to two channels on the same cell tower. B1 20Mhz primary and B20 CA channel 10Mhz width... I tested my throughput and I consistently got 50/50Mbps. I also had APN passthrough interface on the ethernet to my laptop btw. Then I tested with my phone (oneplus 7). I loaded the cellmapper app, and saw I was connected to the same cell tower, and same channel - but I could not identify width or a secondary CA channel. However, I was getting speeds around 170/50Mbps on my phone! How could the download speeds be so different? Am I actually connected to more than two channels on my phone, or is there something wrong with my LtAP? I was having about the same RSSI and RSQP values when testing. CPU in audience did not peak at all (around 3-5%). Edit: I see my oneplus 7 phone is "cat 16 download speeds" meaning it has 4x4 mimo and can use multiple 20Mhz width streams.... How can I test this more scientifically? I might want to use these ltap kits as a failover on my SMB customers...

Excellent video, I'm actually looking for an LTE modem nowadays as the Hua* Stick isn't as good as I expected before. Quick question: can the device be used as LTE modem only without DHCP/routing? I'm still planning to use my ASUS AC87U as router. Thanks!
@IntermitTech5 жыл бұрын
Well it won't become an USB modem like a stick would be. But you can just give it an IP and tell your router that if it has no internet to send it to that IP?
@itx7774 жыл бұрын
@@IntermitTech One more question, is there a possibility to connect external antenna to the device?

Yes, it's very versatile and can be used with external antennas. Check the shots from inside.

I bought the STX version and it’s a mystery how to connect to US providers and configure. Likely perfect for those who script routers, definitely not plug-n-play. Tough when you need to download an update to start configuring, but cannot connect to LTE and it doesn’t seem to support updating via Ethernet

@IntermitTech5 жыл бұрын
Yup, just add a switch and it can be the DHCP server or client, whatever you want. It's a full fledged firewall and router that also has a LTE modem and wireless built in. Perfect for remote situations where you want to be able to manage equipment or view one or more IP cameras.

Yes no problem, just need to add terminals (the case has lots of spots for this) to get them outside and then connect them or your cables to your antennas

I’m down South in the Netherlands, it connects to the 4g but the speed is crap; 500bps, my iPhone works perfect and my old TP Link also makes good connection #hoedan can you help me a bit? Groet Erc
@ERCNL4 жыл бұрын
sorted after a few days "klooien" it seems that the TP-Link Router which I have, used the open.vodafone.nl APN and that didn't work in the Mikrotik, I had to use live.vodafone.com as my APN, which is strange because Vodafone has set my APN to "open" because of my needs, anyhow, it works. Did you tried to get the LTE bonding to work with the extra 4g pcb, because I would like to see if that works, than I would have my ideal mobile router for my Livestreaming projects.

Very disappointed with cat 6 in the states. In Florida I have 2 LHGR’s, one with a cat 4 and one with cat 6 aiming at the same tower using the same carrier and the cat 6 is three to four times slower than the cat 4.
