You should do a “Jesus lizard” top water and see if you can make the feet run on the water. Maybe have the feet be connected through an axle and be like some kind of paddle system. That would be EPIC

Hey wait a minute!...that is Lure Up’s idea...but I have to admit, I’d love to see a Marlin baits version!

I thinks it's a fascinating progression watching you experiment with the weight transfer baits. Each one you make them thinner and more detailed and more like the normal wood baits without the weight transfer systems in them. We are literally watching you perfect a new skill day by day!

A peacock bass lure would be cool they have really interesting coloration which would look really cool on a lure

this is great ! Have you ever tried to make a lure that swims like a dolphin ? Could work with the weight transfer
@handy-capoutdoors40632 жыл бұрын
That would be cool. Like something that barely floats below the surface with wings that make it pop out of the water when tugged on

Looks like some of the scraps from the side shaping on the band saw (6:10) would make some interesting spoon type lures. I don't know if they would work being made out of lighter wood instead of metal though. I would love to see you try.

Ever considered using a router table for the weight transfer slots? Seems like with the proper table or a plunge router it would really simplify that tedious carving. Flush trim bit would speed up doing large batches like this too. Get one shaped and create perfect replicas much faster

I've seen people make attachments for dremal tools to be used as routers. I don't know off hand if there are any commercially avalible
@alanfrye27062 жыл бұрын
@@handy-capoutdoors4063 not sure either. And I won't post if I can't say here's the link like that. I know what I've done. The flush trim bit will work,100% for sure. The idea of the transfer champer..... I'm not positive on. I could see it catch, missing finger.. that's a bad day!

@markbuckallew46892 жыл бұрын
As a luthier I have the same tools as Nate. The erasers work fine but eventually they start sticking to the sandpaper. The cure for this is to use lexan or plexiglass and run it across the sandpaper. So he is already doing this when he sands his lips....

Hi Nate do You think You could make something like sandeel made out of wood ? Here in uk lure fishing is not that popular until summer sea bass and there is lot of soft plastic and very few hard lures. Would it be a little challenge to do a long slim shimmy luere to You? And would it be official in USA

I've watched your vids for about three years and loved them all. I've got a challenge for you. I really dig the colors on this one! I was wondering, I have seen videos where you have had your designed cad modeled and made into molds, but have you ever thought about using 3d prints to enhance the internal design ideas? It would be cool to see you do a collab with the Major Hardware channel on the subject! He recently resurrected the idea of the Heddon Tiny Tad with a 3d print. I can only imagine your ideas for weight transfer and skill at painting combined with his knowledge of 3d printing making for both an epic bait and collaboration series.

Not fish but it does deal with they whole ecosystem thing. Keep it up my friend!
