In this clip Alan Orr explains Body Structure and its importance in real combat. Also, he demonstrates the Snake and Crane of Wing Chun and how they work together not apart. www.alanorrwingchunacademy.com/

Alan makes a good point. When he shows us the QUAN, his tan can become a wrist LOP and BONG can go underneath like the EAGLE CLAW. So many variations unlocked when we break it down. 2:10 I know what he means. About the snake. He’s talking about receiving energy. Letting him pass. Easing him in just to push him away or hit. That was really good. I think the idea was that we can’t just rely on pushing and pulling alone, that we’ve got to be able to communicate that pain and discomfort. Control, with hitting, but balance is taken out, and we move em around too. All those components have to flow. 😎🙏💯

Thank you. Yes, many many layers, which must be alive in real time.

You are still one of the best teachers I would not learn wing chun from anyone else right now... I gave up on wing chun, started to do kickboxing instead, because there is just no one else teaching like you wing chun in my country...

Great clip 😊 The complexity and sophistication of layers within a seemingly simple movement is a paradox and one that is hard to appreciate unless it is felt. Harder still is to successfully apply those skills at a high level even when they have been taught. Truly a lifetime of learning and refining. 🙏

No blocks, no techniques, no structures😎😎😎 Kung fu is a vibe, an idea without ideas. Harness the Chi flowing through the universe and the rest takes care of itself. Feel energy surge from the ground, through the dan tien, through the roof of the mouth, against the knuckles, then back through the skull against the pavement to return to the earth. Joking aside, there's generally a valid point being muddied in semantics. You're doing a great job demystifying these misconceptions.

Great discussion. I recently watched this "internal" discussion of "structure" vs. "frame": kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWjTi5mQgaqFbas&ab_channel=ExperienceWingChunandTaijibySifuSergio ...and am so glad you posted your video here. Although you may not have made this as a response it does provide a nice counterpoint to the mystical, BS side of WC. Thank you for that!
