Adoption was one of the options I had to consider when trying to have a child. In Australia theres so many red taps. Lucky i was able to conceive in the end and now have 2 beautiful children. Must be so rewarding to be able to gift people this special opportunity

It's incredibly difficult to adopt a child (Australia) internationally, and even more difficult to adopt domestically. There are literally thousands of children in foster care the government pretty much never allows adoption for the foster parents and the child they've been caring for long term. We would love to adopt, but it's so incredibly difficult and has caused us confusion and stress.

Yea it can definitely be overwhelming when you first start out. If you are looking into foster to adopt, your first step is to find a foster care agency in your state. Once you find one, ask them what the process is to become a foster parent. The agency will explain to you now you can foster to adopt. I hope that helps! Nebraska Adoption Lawyer yes, that’s exactly what I mean! 👍🏾 children whose biological parents have already had their rights terminated and reunification is no longer possible. Because I’m really not comfortable with the whole foster parent thing of children coming and going, and would just like to fully adopt 1 child without having to foster. Thank you!!

Hi Alex! great question! I would start with researching international adoption agencies in your state. If you can't find anything, Holt international here in Nebraska does adoptions out of China. let me know what you find out!

@@Lucrecebundy I'm currently in the midst of applying for subspecialty fellowship, and I wont know where I'll be for the next few years until December. Once I know where we'll be, we plan on starting the process, that way we don't have to repeat things if we're in a different state.

@@Lucrecebundy ok thanks so when I was told by this lawyer that if the kid is ruled a Orphan kid in Nigeria and I go to the Courthouse in my City to ask a judge to hopefully approve me to be Eligible to adopt and I than do the adoption application in Nigeria I would be able to get the kid so he told me wrong and the closest International Adoption Agency is 3 in a half hours away from me that why I was asking for your because I’m trying to get this kid here with me and out of his horrible living situation he in currently please any more advice??

There are actually many more options to adopt than people realize! So it’s hard to say the best place to start without knowing more about your family’s goals. I’ve found usually what works best is filling out a form with the most important pieces for me to know and then based on that information we can get on a call to explain the next best step. Would that be helpful? I know there’s a lot of confusing/conflicting info on Google that can make things a bit overwhelming so let me know and I’ll send it over!

I suggest that you find international adoption agencies in your state and call them to find out if they do adoptions in Zambia.
