DrSheldonCooper1 is correct. Rent prices have changed since the making of this video. Now, in 2017, the average rent price for a room in a student house would be around $500 - $550 per month (including the cost of utilities). The price of a 1 bedroom apartment would now be closer to $950 per month, plus electricity costs.

The price for rental apartments and rooms have certainly gone up between 2011 and 2016/17!
