I met a USAF vet when I lived in LA, he had some wild stories and I enjoyed many an evening meal with him. I remember taking him to the vet hospital as he had been shot down and in the process almost lost his foot. A fine man for sure. Respect to you Sir, good fortune glad we can enjoy JW together. Eng.

That's great news about the steam engine being put up "correctly". You're a great man to be saving this part of history and showing/teaching those who want to watch about these different steam engines. Also love to watch the progress on the International, should be interesting. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

Best regards luck and especially health to all of you. Post Scriptum: I'm a little bit concerned because I didn't see Nana Catscan doing her job on the good running Diesel engine. Interesting content, Jon. Truck engine diagnosis and mentioning attitudes to decision making. Dependability wins out over power. Very wise. Sons first job using the school of hard knocks approach. Priceless. Lots of parts to make to get the Frick running. I hope you can make the time to do that. It will be great to see that old beast hissing and whooshing back into life. I always enjoy a visit to your place, Jon, thanks for sharing what you do. All the best, Mart in England.

Unlike virtually all of my peers, as a youngster I left my 69' Firebird rag-top "box stock". No traction bars, ... no oversized tires, ... no performance enhancing modifications to the motor. Right out of the box it would run like a striped-assed ape, and ALWAYS go right where you pointed it. The fact that it handled so very well saved my dumb-ass on SEVERAL occasions. ( I sincerely believe the rag-top would definitely out handle the hardtop Camaros and Firebirds ) KUDOS to the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Glad you found out about the defective oil cooler on the diesel. I agree with you on the engine swap. You need a very dependable trouble free engine for the work you do. That would allow you to go through the swapped out engine and I am sure you can make it at least a good running spare for yourself or to sell. That Corliss would be nice to see running again. Loved the steam lapping short video. On a side note, I like the wreck videos you have been making and in times like these, a video record of what you did and how professional you are is a big plus and to CYA. Many Blessings to you and your family and a Merry Christmas 🎄.

Johnathan my family owned a Navistar dealer up to 3 years ago. Those NGD DT466 the weakest point is the sleeves o'rings. If you want to make sure were is the water leak, pull the oil pan and pressurize the radiator. You might able to see if there is rust down the sleeves and skipping the pressurization. We work a lot on those engines and I don't remember once changing a oil cooler. Also the first batch we received had a lot of problems with the water pump. They exploded and wear the the back timing cover, but I don't remember if any wear enough to transfer coolant to the engine.

Sometimes , I wonder if you are right , Jonathan . The rest of the times , you usually are . Lol . You're still breathing , & get more work done when you are off the job , as when you are doing one . Phenomenal work ethic , best road janitor I've ever seen . You do a great job recovering . The damage is already done , when you pick up the pieces . It's What you do with those pieces , that captures our attention . The after hours . What some would deem worthless , you turn into priceless . At the very least , functional . Probably a bad word today , but there it is . Glad both engines are savable , totally understand the swap . A lot of work , but if anyone can do it , you can . Feel free to ramble on , Brother . We learn a lot there when you do , just listening . As I see it , your neighbors could not be in better hands , short of the Almighty , of course . Take care , & God bless . P.S. That stuff packed into that truck frame , is really good for the garden .

I found you because you built some steam engine. Never get tired of them. When I was a kid we went every year to Williams grove steam engine show. At that time it was the only one around. now they have them all over the place. But most if not all were on wheels. Somewhere oil pills . They did have hit and miss and old maytag gas 1 and 2 cylinder motors. Mom said she grew up with one. .
