Great video full of useful information! We're in the process of establishing residency in Germany as retirees and comparing what Montenegro has to offer. How's the healthcare in Montenegro? We stopped in Kotor on a cruise about 10 years ago and thought it was quite stunning. It seems like a lot of expats are moving to Albania and loving it lately. We're hoping to visit both Albania and Montenegro this winter/spring. Thanks again for such an informative video.

It sounds reasonable! I’d need a 2BR and the home swap thing sounds awesome. I love to travel as well

Thank you for the video, Warren & Julie. As retired Americans looking to move to Europe, the question of where our home base should be is a constant topic. Montenegro looks to be a solid alternative to France or Italy. Thank you. Dean & Cindy

@@DeanRamser France and Italy are great countries, Montenegro is a good option to shuffle to if you don’t want or can’t get residency in those countries. Italy is hit and miss depending on the region and government employee working on your case, France inheritance tax may make you want you to think about the country twice, it kept us from moving forward there. Montenegro has some positives, and why we home base there.

Thank You Warren and Julie for another great video. Love your videos because you are so clear and easy to understand information that is crucial to anyone contemplating a Country Change in their life. Question for you: Are Foreign Pensions brought into the country on a monthly basis taxable? If so,at what rate? Interesting to know.
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words, generally they are not taxed. Typically income or profit derived in Montenegro is taxed.

Is there any countries you would recommend to have a look at in that area similar to Montenegro that we could visit on a lower budget for future consideration to buy a property.

Novi Sad Serbia, and Zlatibor Serbia are areas we enjoy going, You may also enjoy Ohrid North Macedonia as well. Sarande Albania is better for renting then buying IMO, however in the Summer it gets crowded and expensive, in the off season October to June it’s less expensive and quieter, stay near the center area near the beach, the outer areas turn into ghost towns in The off season.

Thank you for the video. We are retired American educators considering moving to Europe with our social security and my teacher's pensions to qualify for a retirement-type visa. Italy's Elective Retirement Visa looks good. So does France's VLS-TS. Montenegro is an option as well. Thank you. Dean & Cindy

I am on my way to Croatia, for a couple of months stay and then I'm thinking about heading down to Montenegro or Albania. My question is I see you have a little dog too I'll be traveling with my dog. How difficult is it for you to move from say Croatia into Montenegro and then again into Albania with a dog ?

Once I retire for good, we will have two pension streams of roughly $6K per month. On this amount, can we buy something fairly reasonable near the coast in Montenegro?

@@morgan97475you can live very well on that. There are few mortgage options, typically 50% down. You may need to rent and open a corporation and pay the minimum tax for residency for a period, that is if you need to save to buy a home.

Please consider NOT calling it "Montie". It subtracts from your credibility. It's like someone calling the U.S. "Ami" What do Montenegrins call their country?
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 3 ай бұрын
@@marias2169 it’s commonly used in the expat groups. United States of America is actually shortened to America not Ami… but shortened. I think most people if saying Monti use it affectionately. Montenegro is also called Crna Gora often by the locals and in official documentation.

Montenegro is NATO, Putin would need to go through Romania and Bulgaria first. It’s an unlikely move that Putin would start a war with NATO targeting a country of 630k. Very very unlikely scenario.
