Couldn’t agree more on Robert. He’s one of a select few that I’m blown away with on the regular with their knowledge and recall. Then to share a convo like this…it’s why I started doing this YT thing in the 1st place. I do appreciate the kind words on my style here + the streams, thanks! Great video Chance. You know these people would ever have the balls to talk to you like that in front of your face. Yet they hide like cowards behind a computer screen and figure they can say whatever they want. If it gets to the point where it's threatening, you can always get the police involved. Do you remember the days of crank calls on the phone? Well telephone technology and call display took care of that. That's a thing of the past now. Now if internet service could come up with something like that and make it transparent who was actually making these comments. It might put an end to trolling.

Totally spot on! “Keyboard courage” is a product of the times. Probably started back with those crank calls back in the day, but it’s gotten even more personal, more cowardly, that it’s sometimes hard to believe the stuff these fools. I've made it a point to completely ignore trolls since the days of the first internet groups. I have defended myself a time or two with only one reply, well thought out and final, and of course that opened the floodgate to the troll. But then I just kind of laughed and watched how angry they got when they couldn't get a reply back. This was in the usernet days and of course in early email groups. I just have the attitude that I don't care if somebody is going to be insulting or derogatory to me. It's not going to phase me. And now that we can even delete those types of posts or block the troll altogether, it makes it a lot easier to not have other people joining in and those and commenting on those troll posts. I don't know what it is about those types of people but they feed off of the controversy and the replies. So if you don't feed them, they'll move on :-) I enjoy Robert's channel and I really like his attitude and videos. I enjoy both of your channels and definitely try to keep up with Chance and Robert. @@ConcertBuddie Yeah unfortunately I don't think they ever completely go away. Just don't let them discourage you at all. It is kind of tough sometimes when it's a personal insult to just ignore a comment. You might even think what will I look like if I don't reply? But in the long run, I think people look better not biting. Most of the time (I believe or think) it is the best thing to do and just forget about the trolls. It's just a sad fact there's always going to be some thug out there that enjoys ruffling people's feathers and trying to engage them in a verbal or online argument. I have learned how to troll the trolls. Only every so often when im really bored. And sometimes i truly believe some of these people are paid by their respective causes. Whether its political or representation of the band or team they are supporting. That one Arizona politician was accused of paying trolls to defend the magas position. I truly believe it. Some of these trolls dont know how to handle it when someone comes back at them. One guy who kept trolling me because i wasnt a fan of a certain head coach. Kept calling me a crybaby etc. I got into my burner account.Starting trolling him back. Told him he needs to get rid of the Tommy Smothers hair cut. And told him i was sorry his wife left him and his kids dont talk to him anymore. And wanted to give him a big group hug. He lost his mind and had choice words and he was kicked off the page we were on. My guess is i hit home about the state of where he really was. Lol

Fithen operates w/ the presumption that if he doesn't like an artist's work, it must be crap or without artistic merit. His ignorant declarations regarding Trout Mask Replica firmly establish him as a poorly informed embodiment of the Dunning Kruger effect.
@ConcertBuddie

Thanks for watching + sharing your thoughts here. As he’s worked in broadcasting/media for a long time, and likely that has shaped much of his tastes/pov, I do not feel he is anything close to that Dunning/Kruger effect. Taste is a personal choice, and disagreeing is completely ok; I know firsthand he likes things I don’t, and vice versa, and I’ve never gotten the impression he frowns upon such a difference of opinion. I’d be curious your thoughts on the focus of the piece here: trolls. What say you?
@bakeone4406
@bakeone4406 10 ай бұрын
@@ConcertBuddie my comment was limited to Fithen's smug dismissal of the Trout Mask Replica album in one of his KZbin clips. If he learned to play any of the compositions on the album or bothered to competently absorb them, he'd be a better informed talking head, (and maybe less inclined to advertise his ignorance). I'd venture to say that Fithen wouldn't know Dali's Car from Pachuco Cadaver, or be able to anticipate what's coming next instrumentally in any given section of the album. It has a vocabulary that he isn't familiar with, and his weak brained default is an I don't get it, (or I don't like it) so it sucks. Failing to recognize the limits of what you actually understand and basically being too dumb to know how dumb you are has Dunning/Kruger written all over it.
