Thank you so much for this video. I am an intern in the house, and I was selected to be an intern with CCAI (Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute) as a part of their FYI (Foster Youth Internship) Program. I was matched with a member of congress, and I a so ready to do what I need to learn and adapt as much as I can! This video was very helpful.

I got a summer house internship and I have a question about transportation. I’m from Tennessee so I’m wondering if I should bring my car ( I heard parking is expensive and hard to come by) or will I not need to because of all the public transportation?

Great question! It depends on (1) where you live, (2) if where you live offers parking and (3) does the internship offer parking?Relying on street parking can be hard. DC also has a great metro system. So if you are living by any of the metro stops and feel safe to walk - public transportation may be the way to go!

Reaching out..purchased a flag to be flown this May 31, 2021. Wondering if someone can video it and send to me? Discuss more via contact.

Hi! Good question. The best idea would be to (1) reach out to the office you made the flag request with and (2) see if a staffer in the office is able to video. That said, due to COVID, a number of Congressional staff are working from home given work safety protocols. So I’m not sure if they will be able to enter the Capitol to film. Also, this is something I never thought about. In all my time working in Congress, I never saw the behind the scenes of the flag flying process. Member offices would order the flag be flown from the flag office and after it was flown the flag was delivered to the Member office who ordered it. Then that flown flag was mailed to the constituent who ordered it. Feel free to message me at askmelnmoney@gmail.com if you have other questions!
