I have to say after just a couple of days the noise from the filter reduced dramatically. It's still not bedroom quiet but a volume comfortable enough to have it in a family room for sure. Even more impressed with this filter now.

Very neat Love easy removal and that diaphragm is a great idea 👍👍👍

The diaphragm feature is one of my favourite features about this filter. So simple but so much needed. Makes a big difference.

Great review Daniel 🤠, I've had those superfish aqua flow XL filters and I've always found that the suction cups aren't man enough to the filter in place , mine always used to fall down. This definitely looks like a decent filter, u can't complain about the flow rate on this product, it can easily be turned down. Shame about the light blue parts lol. If they were the same colour as the main filter , you wouldn't notice it in your aquarium. Great video ,very informative mate 😊

Yeah man. Trying to give this filter a good run as I really like it but the blue detailing keeps catching my eye. Might need to come up with a scheme to disguise it.

Well, thanks for the fantastic review Daniel you know we’ve never been crazy about internal filters. Of course we don’t really consider under gravel filters to be internal even though they are so that’s the only exception, but this certainly seems like a good one and lots of people do like internal filters, so thanks for an awesome review and we hope you and your family are having a fantastic holiday season.

I have one of these but have never used it couldn’t figure out what tank I wanted to put it on they seen to be quite decent

If it's the PF4 you have it'd be best for a tank where the fish like a bit of current. It's pretty powerful like.

Wow this filter is impressively strong, didn't expect that! It is a bit loud for me, and I don't care for the blue either. But I do like how you can modify the filter material easily and how easy it is to remove that. Great review, Daniel 🙂👍

Thank you very much Tara. Yeah it's hard to find the perfect filter hey but I reckon if it quietens down a bit and they sort the paint job they'll be pretty close as far as filters in this class go.

@@DanielKeepingFish I think so, too. I have one kind of internal filter in 4 tanks, (all black, 😋), but this one holds more media than mine, and can be way more powerful. I've seen more of the internals in UK- based videos, seems they are more popular there, but I like them
@Golden.FishTank Жыл бұрын
It's definitely way easier to get the media out of it as compared to your old filter, awesome review, will have to see what you think of it after a few months of it running in your tank, it looks built pretty good but I agree with you in that it should've been all black in color.
@DanielKeepingFish Жыл бұрын
I don't know why they do it (manufacturers with the coloured detailing). Looks nice on the side of the box but not so much when they're in our tanks hey.
@Golden.FishTank Жыл бұрын
You have to hope some Algae grows on it to hide the color.

I added this just for extra filter even in my 5ft tank I feel the flow is just to much force I've turned mine down low as possible and had to cover nozzle with some filter floss to reduce further I have rainbow fish angels etc. The noise was bad also unless I pushed it right down in tank and I found it hard to take it apart then getting the plastic flow thing over the nozzle was almost like a fault in it near impossible to turn. So yeah dissatisfied with this I had Internet internal filters years ago always loved them I think they have went down hill big time

A very thorough run down of this wee little filter that "Kicks quite a Punch". LOL If that unit was quiet and all black, you wouldn't even know it was in that tank. You can do a DIY paint job on it.

Yep; kicks quite a punch. Now you know why I could never do live streams. Can't even navigate my own mother tongue haha..

Dear Daniel: I’d switch-out the gravel, for coal slag, over compost. I really appreciate this, lovely set-up, with super-happy, albino, white clouds and Amazon swords. Thank you for sharing your, detailed set-up, of this, fine product. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar

Its not a good design for filtration but good to make them money on replacement foams. The diaphram will clog with particles which stop it from closing and you will eventually remove it. The cradle will go and your more likely to just use this as a polisher and just fill it with polyfilter media. Power will go down massively once sponges clogg. The corner tank you have was designed to run a central filter kinda like the biorbs do, air run filtration with a long up tube.
