This is easily Interpol’s best album post-Carlos D. It takes a few listens to fully appreciate-which, in my estimation, all the best albums tend to need. To me, “The Other Side of Make-Believe” is what “Self-Titled” strived to be: Interpol’s mature record. It’s introspective and patient and every single song compliments and connects in tone and pace. Masterpiece!

Dude yes I cant believe how many people aren't liking it. Its amazing. I haven't liked an album since OLTA and even that album didn't always hit right. This sounds like Interpol. The heavy bass driven sections feels like Carlos D like you said. I feel so emotional listening to Fables and Passengers it's insane. Gran Hotel and Into the Night and Mr. Credit are all amazing. I can't fathom how people aren't being affected by it like I am. It's so Interpol it's unreal.

@@CGMiller the thing is that the whole album is mostly slow moving ballads, vocals and instrumentation are nice but I rarely have come back to this album so far since its release, kinda picks up on Mr credit and renegade hearts, Something changed is really neat, but it just feels so sleepy and slow overall as an album, the energy isn't there. Daniel and Sam have great riffs, but what separates Interpol from their contemporaries is Paul's unique baritone voice, and he gets so loud and emotional on many tracks across Turn on the bright lights, Antics, OLTA, even the self titled, and Marauder. El Pintor had a lot of slower romantic ballads but Paul still had a triumphant voice and the instrumentation was creative, we've come to expect powerful Paul Banks vocals and we are not getting that on this album

@@miscellaneousmedia3753 I feel like his voice is much more emotional in these. I can hear his pain. It’s coming with his age like it’s a more mature sound. Like it’s more real. Like he is confessing things to us.

Hi Falon, you need to listen to "Mr. Credit" again... with good speakers and turn the volume way up at 2min 31sec.. I personally think it's the best track of TOSOMB.. you just have to listen to it a bit more, like many of the greatest Interpol songs... I have it on repeat since the album came out ✌️

Now that's a good reaction video. I haven't really heard anything since Our Love To Admire so I don't know what the later stuff sounds like. This one sounds good. You're chirping and cooing over the good spots. Enough times to make me think it could be worth listening to.

It’s been hit or miss even though El Pintor was is an excellent album. I like this new one also. Not a bad track on it.

Good to hear a review from another fan. Personally I'm a big fan of the Interpol sound so although I admit there weren't many new elements except for songs like Toni and Something Changed, I definitely liked the new album a lot and the more I listen to it the more I like it. My favorites were Passenger, Into The Night, Gran Hotel, Toni and Fables.

I really like Interpol’s weird closers. Especially on the first four albums.

Hi Falon - The new album is really solid 👌 I give it a B+ ✅️ ( Love The Before Trioligy ) Cool when Julie Delpy sings a song to Ethan Hawke about him at the end saying .. " You are so going to miss you're flight .. "

I don’t understand the meh people give this record. I disliked marauder at first then I really listened to that album from Interpol and realized it’s not a bad album at all, this record is their best in years, and I feel like the people who meh it misunderstand the album. The only album I really don’t like is their self titled.

Hey Falon, what do you think of the songs 4 days later? Haha So far Mr Credit is my favorite, and I didn't love it at first sight (I had a reaction similar to yours). A great album, I think. Good to hear new music from them as you said.
