It's sort of surreal seeing Kristen Stewart on this video, I remember ten years ago when I used to like her a lot as a hardcore twilight fan and I remember reading an interview where she mentioned Interpol as one of her favorite bands, it's actually how I got to know about them and became their fan, great to see her working directly with them after all these years

How funny! If you remember the movie ZATHURA, she plays the obnoxious older sister, and I was shocked to see a big INTERPOL poster on her wall! How funny that she really does like Interpol and that poster did not make it into the movie because of the art director, but because of her! I never had a reason to like her until now.

I remember dating a girl that put me onto this album and this band. She came through like a hurricane for real. Anyways it was great while it lasted. We spent a lot of time playing this bands music and in particular this song. We were together during when this album released and split up not long after. This is some very real music. Its been some years now and got hit with some heavy nostalgia listening to this. I've been on my own for a while now just observing things from a far off distance. This music is super anxiety driven for me so I stay away 😂 I don't think I even fully understood what there was to digest. A bit older now and listen to their music is extremely heavy. Theres so many layers. This song in particular shows a high level of awareness and wisdom with the way things are these days. Anyways salute to the fans of this band. I wouldn't say I was a fan but can respect the art. Its always been difficult for me to listen to the music my ex listened to because its emotional ngl 😅 But I can see why she was such a big fan its like this band really gets her

To be honest, I think this would rank at position 25 or below. There are so many good songs from Antics and "Interpol" (the album) that are definitely better than this one. Just my opinion. @@jg6551 OK bro. I'll make some lists here. It's going to be difficult because there are very few songs by them that I don't like. The reason I think TOBTL is a masterpiece is because it's unique. You can't find the darkness that is on this album on any of their other albums, and the fact that it's a debut makes it more impressive, these guys knew exactly what they were doing. My Top 15 favorites 1- Obstacle 1 (TOTBL) 2- The New (TOTBL) 3 - PDA (TOTBL) 4 - Say Hello to the Angels (TOTBL) 5 - Obstacle 2 (TOTBL) 6 - Leif Erikson (TOTBL) 7 - Slow Hands (ANTICS) 8 - NYC (TOTBL) 9 - Not Even Jail (ANTICS) 10 - Take you on a cruise (ANTICS) 11 - The Heinrich Maneuver (Our Love to A.) 12 - Evil (ANTICS) 13 - No I in Threesome (Our Love to A.) 14 - Rest My Chemistry (Our Love to A.) 15 - Pace is the Trick (ANTICS) Underrated songs that deserve a second listen Obstacle 2 (This one of my favorites) Success Summer Well Public Pervert Pace is Trick Fine mess Here are the songs I only needed to hear once to like it. "What Part of Betrayal Do You Wish to Deny?": every time I hear this sentence I am moved. In it I recognize Paul's poetic and logical genius, and it is so true! In fact, if you love nothing, you don't even have an interest in sweetening the betrayal by denying a part of it. I believe that these words, like the whole song, is necessarily dedicated to a real person. This, on the other hand, is proved by the clearly allusive look of Paul at 3,23, too intense to be simply a director's invention for the video.

4:44 - 4:52 - the way the song mirrors Stewart's character callously kicking dude out of the car- with up tempo, drum driven sounds- to the camera suddenly cutting to Paul Banks' solemn expression- with that gorgeous melancholy outro chord- is MAGNIFICENT. Playing with the kitchen staff to further strut power and then feeds the concoction to her latest victim as if to mean: drink the koolaid/be addicted like me in order to gauge how far the manipulation can go. @Samuel Powell nice vibes, perhaps, of early Interpol. Yet the more mature Interpol is the better, like a good wine

You don't need to be young to have it be the anthem to your youth.

The production value on this looks like it's really big and that's great. From the cast; K Stew and Finn Whitrock to the editing and lighting, it's all brilliant
