I am from africa too...(Central African Republic) born but raised in Europe...We have the same way of viewing things like in Ghana...I grew up in France so...my view about this things is different... I was in shock when i went back the first time to my birth country in Africa. My youngest brothers when they talk to me they only use the "you" form (the formal way of talking). I didn t understand the first time...Even when they talk to me they don t look me in the eyes...they look on the ground..And when i am in Africa...i never wash my clothes or cook...my youngest brothers of sisters do that for me (without asking)...It s just like it s their duty to do so...without me asking...it s weird but i like it very much. When i exit my room to go take a shower...they will ask me for my dirty laundries and one of my baby sister will ask my permission to enter my room and clean it and make my bed...it s like that every day when i am there...And it s also a big "NO NO" to talk to you parents in a informal way. When my father talk to me and i have to respond. My answer will be "yes sir" and if i have a cap on i have to remove it first before responding. My father is very funny when i am with him..we laugh and crack jokes all the time but i will always be formal...because he s not my friend he s my dad. We are not the same age...so i totally get what Yoofi is saying. #Africatotheworld.
