People are scared to talk and not be believed Parents are afraid of scandals Youth sports have too much pressure now It’s the same with kids modelling too Some of the parents are so desperate for their kids to be the next great athlete or actor that they fail to see what’s right in front of them. Parents, get off your phones and pay attention to the people around your kids, as well as your kids themselves.

it’s funny how it tends to always be innocuous community members. coaches, pastors, relatives.. totally normal people, because that’s how they move in the shadows, where they’ve put themselves intentionally. predators blend in, rather than sport bright colors etc that indicate that they’re a threat and to stay away. i don’t think we should blindly distrust people who seem normal in our communities, but i don’t believe we should blindly trust them either. a bit more scrutiny is needed. more encouragement to share their pain as well as the tools needed to share their pain is needed for children. have seen it hundreds and hundreds of times from cops, pastors, coaches etc as i said above; family men, community pillars. or sometimes pillar women, innocuous and very desirably “normal” on the outside as far as blending in w society, as we’ve seen with cases actually being reported more often than they used to w female teachers sexually exploiting their pupils. strangely, i don’t really hear about this so often if at all from like.. drag queens? 🤔 so weird… could it be that we’re trying to protect the institutions that keep children vulnerable to “upstanding” predators who already know their generational pipelines to prey?

Private lessons should never mean a coach and child alone. Any coach asking for that is a red flag. Professionalism is more important than “rapport”. Kids don’t have to any degree of emotional bonding with a coach or teacher to learn and excel. There is comfort in boundaries and avoiding ambiguity. Those who don’t adhere to that are a concern.

Alot of sporting parents are living vicariously through their children. There's a huge amount of kids in competitive sports that don't want to be there, mommy does. Myself and a fellow coach reported abuse in a gymnastics club we worked at last year, and the director and governing body of the sport tried to bury it. We went to the press and they actually offered us money to sign an NDA and go away. This was Sept23 and the adults involved are still coaching. 9 staff left with us to go to other clubs. We have been told they are still doing it. S3xual, physical and mental abuse of females aged 7 - 16yrs. Ive fallen into a deep depression from the shame of not being able to do more. Even meeting with local law enforcement and giving them all the evidence we collected has gone nowhere. It keeps me awake every night thinking about what might be happening in there every day. Ive reached out to as many parents as I could and we've met with many. Almost all of whom have removed their kiddos. I just dont know what else to do.

I coached girls high school softball and I was always very careful. I was NEVER inappropriate with the students. Never wore any T-shirts with inappropriate images. And I would not let them hug me… which they would sometimes want to do. And I would not give rides home to any of the girls. Although one day one girls missed her ride… I told her to catch a ride with someone else. Then I saw her walking on my way home. She said again… missed her ride. I immediately called the head coach (who was female) and explained. She told me to go ahead and give her a ride home… which was 5 miles away. It’s called CYA. I never took any chances.

Nassar was a doctor…I could see how he fooled parents because as a doctor, he genuinely does HAVE to touch the girls. This guy? A “coach”? Come on…I would never let my little girl be on a team with a male gymnastics coach like this that “tickles”.
@kristidesrosier4682
@kristidesrosier4682 2 ай бұрын
As a gymnastics coach myself I have found ways of correcting body shape that do not involve touching the athlete. These tend to get the point across much better since the athlete is actually making the shape not me making it for them. If there is ever an accidental touch it is addressed immediately by myself and the athlete. We are never alone with kids, ever and we have cameras all over the gym. We do not take any chances with this as these people are ruining the reputation a sport so many love.

Hard truth, women are not athletes, when compared to men... just match up any man vs women. The man always wins... women just play sports because men do it... even gymnastics it's the men who dominate.. so it's easy to find a mantrain women vs finding a expert female to train them... look at women's wmba compared to nba...

While I understand both men and women are capable of this.. and unfortunately things have gotten worse when it comes to children being abused. I say female coaches only for girls and men for boys. All kids should be told what is ok and what is not. So it's stopped the first time it happens. Also parents should not be leaving their children in the hands of strangers!!!! That would prevent anything from happening!
