Now THIS is what I expected from Smite in Unreal 5. What an imaginative god kit! Not being smothered in hard CC or bloated stats or broken auras. A genuinely high skill cap kit with proper risk/reward. Having to use your mobility to CC and having to manage your refires is an amazing way to reward better players and PUNISH THE HELL out of bad ones. The ult and passive is also satisfyingly complex. I can absolutely see goober players whiffing them all and kneecapping themselves late game. Even the 17% passive seems like more of a midgame buff than an early one. On first look, the number on all the abilities seem to fairly scale in the late game without being busted as hell early or useless late. This is what's gonna build Smite 2 into the juggernaut we all want it to be. Stop making gods or items that play themselves. _Force_ players to learn, to invest, and to get better. Take FULL advantage of the game engine and create stuff that'll highlight the new system instead of hiding it. Honestly, this is has me more hyped than any of the gods port of the last 2 months. This is amazing and I hope it plays as good as it looks.

Wall run is basically what i wanted a new arachne passive to be, letting her walk along and climb over walls. And using one of her abilities on the wall makes her attack from it. Aladdin looks great. Happy they took a lot from story like the ring genie, and he looks fun to play in the jungle

My only gripe about the ult is that they need to slightly increase the channel time needed to enter or make it so only one person can channel enter at a time.

If damage stops a people from hopping into the lamp for the ult, then Jorm, once added to Smite 2, will be both the best friend and worst enemy of an Aladdin. Depending on the range of interaction, one toxic puddle will be all it takes to lock one side out of the lamp.

17% is clearly intentional as its 1/6th, so you'd be getting an item worth of stats (5 items + Starter) but no passive, no real reason to keep it when you could just get an actual item with a useful passive or active. But until you hit 6-slot it's just free stats which is kinda nutty.

⁠@@Inters3ct Ah, but remember, in the next patch, you’ll be able to stack up on the strength and intelligence elixirs as long as you have the gold for them, which the lamp SHOULD buff the benefits of… Meaning that you can keep the lamp and save the gold you WOULD have spent on that 6th item on another elixir instead. And another. And another, and another… All while your enemies don’t have that same head start nor the more efficient stat boosts (baring another Aladdin who has the same ideas as you, or a Morragin that’s copying you via her ult.)

Already got a great idea for the ult Jungle picks the hypercarry of their team that's getting all the peel (like a zues) then Aladin ults him and kills him off in a 1v1 while the solo keeps any enemies from joining in to help the zues out

I'm curious on how the ult will work in spectator mode, will we just not be able to see it? Imagine in a official streamed game there's a fight in the ult and they have to go on the overhead camera to see it instead of the wide shot I mean, it's very specific as a thing, but still intresting to know if they thought of that Still, character and skills look fun. He looks very cool but you already know he is bloated. The ult will probably be over tuned at first but they will hopefully balance it. The 3 will need to be targetable, maybe limited cc immune and limited damage immune but some amount of targetable. Double passive is wild. The wishes will certainly need a nerf and so will the lamp itself. 17% of all stats for free and it comes with the 3 wishes, two of which can easily win the game in the late game.

my only major concern is his 3, everything else can be fixed by number changes i feel. also, although he has a dash, his 3 seems like his main source of chase/lockdown so it should hopefully not be up when he needs to escape. so could be something that’ll feel balanced as long as the CD isn’t too short

I have interaction questions now: How will Athena, Thanatos, Thor, Janus, Neith, Rat, Cthulhu, and especially Heim ults look/interact like in Aladdin’s ultimate? Is Aladdin untargetable while wall running? I assume he can take tick damage but can we damage it CC him? Or, is there a certain height where he becomes untargetable by most abilities? Is his hit box still on the ground or what?

If this is the direction they continue to go for Smite 2 god designs, I am fucking in. Mordred and Hecate are already solid gods that are real fun to play with interesting build paths and play styles. Aladdin is just going to add to that tremendously. Tiamat remains my favourite god to date but fuck man, I think Aladdin is going to test my character loyalty. I do hope they consider later down line, revisiting outdated and mundane god designs. Like, compare Aladdin to the likes of Ra or Kuku and it's not even close.

The magic carpet was never part of Aladdin's original story, and is a Disney addition. The carpet was actually taken from another 1001 and 1 Nights story Prince Husain and the Magic Carpet. They did make him similar to Disney's Aladdin with the parkour and blue genie, but adding a magic carpet would be way too obvious.

What if instead of wasting all your wishes per game he could reset by looking for the lamp wich is hidden in the enemy territory and the enemies could find it and either use the lamps wishes or ward it so they would know when you are looking for the lamp.

Is the lamp not going to make him flat out better than every other god early game? Extra stats, money, cooldowns, and instant respawn is insane to just flat out give a god. With Nikke and Gilgamesh you have to work/wait for stuff like that

As with most things, that depends on the numbers. If the extra stats are too powerful then nerfing his base damage and / or scaling can easily compensate. The respawn, you still have to get from base back into the action - it's once per game and arguably often weaker than a khepri ult. The complete ability & relics reset does sound much harder to balance though, two entire ability rotations including ult will almost inevitably be VEEERY strong in that once-per-game teamfight unless they make the abilities weak to the point he kinda sucks without the double-rotation. But even that could be adjusted with something like 'for 10s after the cooldown reset he only deals 50% damage' so the second cast of the kit isn't as strong.

Eh, his ult is boring 🤷🏼‍♂️. The whole problem I have with smite is that you can be chillin and fighting your opponent 1v1 and then the whole enemy team will pull up to kill you and your team is nowhere to be found because trash 🫢 but I liked the concept of having his ult FORCE a 1v1 fight. Letting others join in just seems stupid. Let me 1v1 fight someone with no interruptions, why does the lamp have to allow other team members to join? Dumb to me 🤷🏼‍♂️
