For some it's because that's the part one empathizes more at that moment, I have read many saying it's for when " they feel hurt" but the rest of the song is a different theme with "achieved happiness" vibe , same in fiction some people get triggered when an edgy and "damaged" character changes and progresses in their storyline they can't accept that because they haven't live it themselves.........or its just that great voice range shining at the beginning

Unfortunately most people will stop the song after it ends. The intro is so melancholy that the rest of the songs vibe is a bit too drastic of a change. IMO I would’ve tried keep the same feel and made the song on about 2 min long. Which would then transition to the rest of the original song as a separate song. Still great tho 🙌🏼
