They might change the exit numbers to a mileage based system to match the mileposts along I-81 in New York in the near future. They did it on I-84, I-99, and I-781 in New York several years ago. Delaware and New Hampshire are the only two states still uses exit numbers in sequential (consecutive) order. Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont done their change their exit numbers to a mileage based system recently.

This should be an awesome drive through! Thanks. But I always found I-81 to be dull. I prefer I-87 and the beauty of the Adirondacks :). Nonetheless, cant wait to sit thru this one. You going all the way south?

We winter in Florida. I take 81 to 77 to 95 once we are in Georgia. Much nicer ride, 95 is a nightmare.

I agree, 95 for me is only interesting when beyond 2 lanes on each side, so 3+ lanes. For reference; nyc, Boston, New Haven, nj turnpike, de turnpike (Wilmington, Baltimore, dc, and Richmond, after that it gets boring till Georgia and Florida. Maine, North Carolina and south Carolina are probably the most boring states of i95
