If you ever go to Charlotte, North Carolina, the I-77 Express Lanes will accept a Virginia E-ZPass Flex in HOV mode and the HOV requirements match that of Northern Virginia.

Based on the toll prices I saw in this video, I'm assuming you have the 3 or more people in your vehicle which allows you to avoid paying tolls on the express lanes. If you had to pay to use the express lanes, I would most likely think that you would bail out of the express lanes early at the flyover ramp before the exit for Route 286 or back on the regular lanes.

They changed the speed limit bc it would drop to 60 before Dudley now it doesn’t drop to 60 until you go over the bull run right after the rest area, it stays 65 for a longer time now

for those of you express lane drivers who can't figure this out - let me explain. When you're driving on the I66 express lanes, The left lane is the slower lane! The right lane is the fast/passing lane. If you'll notice the express lanes shoulder, yellow line, entrance and exit ramps are on YOUR LEFT. To your right you'll see the fast/passing lanes next to the peg posts which is next to the regular fast/passing lanes on the free section of the highway.

Absolutely 100% false please do NOT mislead the general public. As a person who works for VDOT in the traffic management sector I helped design these express lanes. The left lane is for passing no matter what road is being traveled. As you can see in the video all traffic is passing him to the left. As far as the yellow line you’re referring to it’s always to your left. The only reason it’s not to your left on the general purpose lanes is because of the structure used to divide the general purpose from Express. If you @allanytown would like to know more about driving and markings on a road way. I’d be more than happy to send you an updated driving manual. The flow of traffic is what I specialize in. Virginia is actually working on a law that will ticket drivers for “cruising in the left lane”. The left lane is meant for PASSING no debate! It’s worked for other states such as Texas. 36% of bottlenecks on VA highways occur because of a slower driver in the left lane who holding up a whole line of vehicles who are unable to pass them due to its speed. @@Bobbysworld22 you're the problem here. Your bad design is what leads to poor safety and bad driving. So by your explanation - slower traffic that is entering and exiting the lanes or needing to pull onto the shoulder WHICH IS ALL ON THE LEFT SIDE - must first cross over the "passing lane" as you state, which has the faster moving traffic to get all the way over to the right lane. So stupid. It's no wonder things are so dysfunctional when we have people like you trying to make the rules. Its blatantly obvious how the lanes should function - but not to idiots like you. I will continue to drive the lanes the way i previously stated. Traffic enters and exits from the slower lanes. PERIOD FULL STOP.

Do you think you’re going to able to try the 95 Express Lanes? Once Fred-Ex opens, you will be able to enter the 95 South Express Lanes just south of exit 148 and exit the 95 North Express Lanes just before exit 148.

The 60 also didn’t turn to 55 until before 29 but now it doesn’t until after between route 29 and va-28
