As a truck driver who lives in Phoenix, this route (from the 10 @ Vicksburg Rd to Parker, AZ across the river to Vidal Junction) is a MAJOR bypass for loads coming or going to or from Phoenix to Bakersfield and points beyond. The 93 can be a huge PITA (pain in the arse). All the hills and sharp turns. It’s why you see so many trucks on here.

The gap of US-95 in CA you’re still missing is the section that comedian Sam Kinison lost his life on. His car crash was at 34.89618,-114.644944

I live in Blythe, and have made this drive several times.

The flash floods from monsoon rains are the reason that these "flat" desert roads are like roller-coasters. I can't recall though, whether that is cause or effect. I you want a REAL roller-coaster road, try California Hwy 120, between Lee Vining and Benton. Some of those dips will bottom your suspension, if you're not careful. Or, maybe the state has fixed that, by now.

I live here. US-95 is some of the worst highway you will ever find. Particularly from Vidal Junction north to Needles. Nothing much improves at the I-10 cutoff to Las Vegas northbound. This road sees a tremendous amount of traffic and is some of the most rough and dangerous I've ever seen. I travel it a couple of times of year, my truck hates me for it. Coupled with insane drivers trying to make time, this is one scary route. San Bernardo County should be ashamed of themselves and at the least, should be held accountable for the traffic accidents in these areas.
