I lived in San Antonio area when "China Grove" was a hit. Only hit #15 Billboard Hot 100 but was #1 KTSA San Antonio. I then moved to the other place where the song was #1 the Doobies home San Francisco Bay Area.

The state is soooooooo big. It takes me from the most southern tip of the state (RGV) to San Antonio about 3-4 hrs on US 281. In any other part of the country you probably cross a few state in that time.

Thanks for showing the drive over I37 in San Antonio. And thanks for the information about the Texan-Mexican War, including The Alamo. Greets from the Netherlands!

I was probably a fellow driver with you while you filmed this. I live just off the Carolina St / Florida St exit you pass at 2:29. Cheers for the content!

A great book on San Antonio is “San Antonio On Foot”. The second and last edition is now a quarter of a century old. It still has about fifteen walks in San Antonio.

I’m from Texas and it is very hot and humid here…..it’s bad for you health. As a matter of fact I’ve been dying ever since I was born so please don’t move here. Your welcome to visit just don’t stay. 🤣

Nice video as usual. Last time I was in San Antonio was in 1985 on a family trip. Took in the Alamo and the River Walk.

The song in this video was used as the theme song for the game show Don’t Forget the Lyrics, which originally aired on Fox from July 2007 to June 2009. The show was recently revived for Fox and began to air on the network again in May 2022 with rule changes, along with a hosting change and a change to the theme song.

Ive been to San Antonio before back in December 2018 love the stack interchanges plus I was on US 90, Interstate 10, Interstate 35, US 281, Texas State Highway 1604 and Interstate 410. Never got on Interstate 37 since I was by the airport, in Hill Country and Downtown/River Walk

If you come out here to South Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, the Interstates are the most boring drive, nothing but trees on both sides of the road. The US highways and back roads have much more scenic drives than the Interstates do.

Agreed, nothing like west of SA to LA. I love driving from Texas to California. Wide Open spaces. Awesome.
