I'm away in the military and listen to this song when I start to miss my family. It makes me realize even though the story is fiction, that it could be much worse like Cooper missing out on decades within just a few days and giving up his family for the better. Makes a few months away from home seem a lot easier.

3:52 This is where Kyle's real skills start to set in. He's not even looking at the sheets anymore and is ready to just go all out on improvising. Then he just explodes at 5:59 and creates this wow moment as you watch in awe. This is what sets him apart from other pianists. His improvising and arranging skills are second to none and you feed off of his emotional playing. Thanks for the inspiration Kyle.

Wow, amazing. Whereas other covers just try to replicate the notes as exact as possible, your interpretation really gets to the essence of the original score. The original score was always made for the organ, so you can't just repeat the notes on another instrument. With your interpretation, you really managed to translate the organ piece into a piano piece. Well done!

My wife finally bought me a keyboard at 47 years old as she knew my truth. 2 years later & I have memorized 2 songs I can play (by sight not reading - no formal training) & I have been working on this one & can play up to 58 seconds where I get I to the deep water & can't swim. I've watched this video no less than 500 times & I still am awed by it's beauty. Is there a tutorial on this song or how would someone persistent in learning this song learn how to at it? Gets complicated but I'm willing to put in the effort to learn this song. Thank you Kyle for sharing the fruits of your considerable talents & efforts!

And the 2.nd one is you. How I would have loved to be able to pay your ticket to Sweden to play on my own wedding party to come sometime in the future after the pandemic is gone. Its seldom to hear such perfection.

Guess what, a childhood dream of playing piano just came out 2 months ago. Started with a digital piano and 20 days later i purchased a baby grand Steinway. All of this because Ive heard this piece and it touched me so deeply that I started all of this adventure. Thanks Kyle Landry, you are truly an inspiration. I hope I could play this piece in rhe future as musical as you do!

I thought I’d already come across the best renditions of this Hans Zimmer piece, until in the comments of another video someone said to check out Kyle Landry’s rendition. Oh my days, I’m just blown away after just listening to this!! It gave me all of the feels, it’s just so beautiful! Thank you. I’m 18 days into my piano learning journey and would one day love to be competent enough to play this piece, it’s my favourite composition. I must say, your rendition is more beautiful than the original, sorry Hans!!!

I'm tryna learn to play this song and the hardest thing for me at the moment is the amount of pressure to put on the keys. At some moments of the song Kyle slams the living shit out of the keys and other moments he gently presses the keys treating it like the most fragile thing in the world. I am currently at 1:18 and need to practice controlling my strength. wish me luck!

@@Worker100 Try Jerrod Radnich (Pirates Forever), and make sure it is his performance, LOTS of people cover it. You will love the last 'chord', I'm sure he rehearsed that for hours, it's pretty funny. You will see ALL KINDS of comprehension and grace...and power, and subtlety, and ... :-) Or Cateen (Hyato Sumino), his original Piano Sonata 0 is quite good, and his improvisational skills are absurd, he does movies, games, world classical tours, jazz, even some top tier competitions, for fun. As a technician he is almost unmatched. There are several others, but yeah, Kyle is DEFINITELY a favorite of mine. He really does sound like he works out every note to perfection. Frank Tedesco does some very cool stuff, made up real time, and very complex arrangements, ten loop levels deep, some of them, others just straight piano. I think his Etude called Waves is a lot of fun, an original. Hope you enjoy. If you want more, just ask. I spend way too much time on YT. And it's not a competition, really, unless it is. I don't know how you pick out one person and assign the level 'best'. That doesn't really even mean anything, when you get to top tier performers. More personal taste than anything, at that point, IMHO. I have quite a few keyboardists on my playlist, and Kyle has a few pieces there. This is one of them, IIRC. Oh, look up Jacob Collier's 'Don't Stop'. Totally different, but totally great, if a bit silly. He likes to have fun. You might enjoy Sestak's "House of the Rising Sun", too. My favorite cover of that piece. That guy knows the value of silence in a piece, as well. Fun to watch.

1:43 At first, I was afraid, I was petrified. Kept thinkin' I could never live Without you by my side, But then I spent so many nights Thinkin' how you did me wrong. And I grew strong And I learned how to get along. And so you're back from outer space. I just walked in to find you here With that sad look upon your face. I should've changed that stupid lock, I should've made you leave your key, If I had known, for just one second, You'd be back to bother me. Well, now go! Walk out the door! Just turn around now, 'Cause you're not welcome anymore! Weren't you the one Who tried to hurt me with goodbye? Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? Oh no, not I! I will survive! Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive! I've got all my life to live. I've got all my love to give. And I'll survive! I will survive! Hey, Hey! It took all the strength I had Not to fall apart And trying hard to mend the pieces Of my broken heart. And I spent, oh, so many nights Just feeling sorry for myself. I used to cry, But now I hold my head up high! And you'll see me, somebody new, I'm not that chained up little person Still in love with you. And so you felt like droppin' in And just expect me to be free, But now I'm savin' all my lovin' For someone who's lovin' me! Go now! Go! Walk out the door! Just turn around now! 'Cause you're not welcome anymore! Weren't you the one Who tried to break me with goodbye? Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? Oh no, not I! I will survive! Oh, as long as I know how to love I know I'll stay alive! I've got all my life to live. I've got all my love to give. And I'll survive. I will survive! Oohh.. Go now! Go! Walk out the door! I’m 21 years old now working construction and it’s been a while since I’ve been disciplined about practicing piano. Every time I hear her play or someone playing the piano who plays their soul into it I feel myself being dragged into it. I love it and it’s one of the few things that truly makes me emotional. I’m going to master this piece.
