If you want a good book check out Kip Thorne- The Science of Interstellar Copy and paste the details straight from the book Interstellar, from acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan, takes us on a fantastic voyage far beyond our solar system. Yet in The Science of Interstellar, Kip Thorne, the physicist who assisted Nolan on the scientific aspects of Interstellar, shows us that the movie's jaw-dropping events and stunning, never-before-attempted visuals are grounded in real science. Thorne shares his experiences working as the science adviser on the film and then moves on to the science itself. In chapters on wormholes, black holes, interstellar travel, and much more, Thorne's scientific insights-many of them triggered during the actual scripting and shooting of Interstellar - describe the physical laws that govern our universe and the truly astounding phenomena that those laws make possible.

Right?? Same. That and that ending quote "my dad promised me" always hits so deep. It's hard for my emotions to build in most movies but this one never seems to let up no matter how many times I've seen it. Such an amazing voice in actors, music/soundtrack, and my favorite part. The accuracy in physics and space. Bravo 👏

@@ANGELINAA It was and you owe it to yourself and go catch an IMAX 70mm screening. It will be a completely new experience even if you've seen this several times and in theaters before. Those shows were sold out a week ahead of time and they literally had to extend a second week so you might still be able to see it on IMAX 70mm if you reserve your tickets now.

Seeing this in theatre for the first time was an experience. I only watched the teaser and because it was Nolan I was gonna watch regardless. An insane, transformative experience. Some critics didn’t like it when it came out but the audience loved it.

the no cellphones thing is actually Nolan's trick to make his movies timeless. He's trying to not use too much daily life technology in his movies so you could watch them 20, 30, 50+ years from now and they'd still be relevant. Since technology moves too fast and can make movies that rely on its use in plot quickly outdated.

This movie is absolutely 𝗣𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗟, an undeniable 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗜𝗘𝗖𝗘. It’s my all-time favorite film. Watching it in the theater when it first came out in 2014 was pure magic, it completely blew my mind!! But seeing it again a couple days ago 12/08/2024 in the IMAX for its 10th anniversary re-release was mind-blowing too. If you have the opportunity to see it in the IMAX, it's a total CRIME if you miss it! The scale and immersion felt like experiencing it for the first time. Having seen it many times, I found myself often watching the audience in awe of what they were witnessing. The applause at the end was so well deserved and emotional for a movie that still resonates a decade later. It’s incredible to live in a time when Christopher Nolan, arguably the greatest director of the last 15 to 20 years, is creating work like this. Hans Zimmer, the greatest composer of our generation, adds unmatched brilliance to every moment. Seeing them both at the peak of their creative geniuss, coming together for this project is pure cinematic magic. This isn’t just a movie. It’s a masterpiece that has stood the test of time and remains unmatched. For me, it’s the greatest cinematic achievement ever created.

41:01 No, we had to go to Mann's planet. Yes, he lied to us, but we didn't know that. We have to play the odds. (Brave of Matt Damon to play a coward, BTW). I truly believe 'Interstellar' is Nolan's masterpiece. It knocks his 'Dark Knight' trilogy into a cocked hat... and I LOVE his Batman films.

When I saw this movie some time ago, I was completely starstruck of how completely integrated and thought out this story was portrayed. Although he’s still in his prime, if not better, this was indeed PEAK Christopher Nolan because only he can toy with our minds and make us think about literally everything and your video is living proof of that. Honestly, I didn’t know what took me so long since my dad repeatedly told me to watch it and I didn’t. Given the premise of it, it is now so relatable to the times that we’re living right now as climate change and biodiversity loss continues. Furthermore, I too was surprised some of the cast members I’ve seen, especially Timothée Chalamet, Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain who resembles exactly like the girl who portrayed Murphy. As for the score, every time that I watch his films, I always believe that Hans Zimmer is behind it. In fact, when I first saw Oppenheimer in theaters, I assumed it was him until the credits showed me otherwise with the name of Ludwig Göransson; another phenomenal composer who, in my opinion, is second closest to Zimmer. It was no doubt why this film won an Oscar for Visual Effects because that was pretty epic. This hits me hard since the only reason I watched this film is because I was about to attend a concert that featured Hans Zimmer performing his memorable scores LIVE and you can bet that this is on the list. Let me tell you, it was very “stellar”. Since you’re a fan girl, I highly recommend watching him in person and the timing couldn’t be better because he’s coming back next February at Nashville, TN. Angelina, I guarantee you that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will change YOUR LIFE. I know mine did

I love this movie as well. Funny bit of trivia, before they shot the movie a local news radio station put out word that a Christopher Nolan science fiction movie was going to be shot near by, and they were looking for background people. I thought it was neat that he was coming back to Alberta to shoot, but figured it was going to be a relatively short part of the film like in Inception. But pretty much all of the Earth based stuff was shot here, which was pretty cool

When I saw you post this it reminded me that I never finished this whole movie. I started watching it in the theater with a friend when it came out, but it was way longer than I expected and I had to dip out about 2/3 of the way to make it to work on time. Because I missed the whole last third I missed all the connections and explanation of everything and I just thought the movie was confusing and never revisited it. I recalled you saying in previous videos that Interstellar was your favorite movie overall so I thought I would give it a fair watch before coming back to see your commentary. Holy shit. What a film! For science fiction, my best of all time are indeed "Interstellar" but tied with "2001: A Space Odyssey." _ However, I can choose a best-of-all-time film: "Koyaanisqatsi" from 1983. It's not a normal movie, and probably why I have yet to see a single movie reactor choose it. It's more of an "experience" film that is contemplative and meditative. _ If you ever watch it, you will see so many bits of it (including the Philip Glass soundtrack) copied into so many films made after it. You will need an idea of "what's it all about", so just take that from the meaning of the Native American Hopi word that is the title: "Life Out of Balance."

I don't get why Dr. Mann did things the way he did. It seems like all he wanted was to be found and leave the planet, which is why he left his signal broadcasting and made his data seem positive so that it would be more likely for someone to come his way... so then all he really had to do was tell them basically "it was all a lie, let's go", and then go with them. I'm sure they would have understood.
