Re: foundation visible or absent I'm on team absent. I also like the natural look under all the buildings.

I like the look of plain ground for small buildings most of the time, but for really tall ones like ILSs it feels more realistic for them to require support.

Love your series ... I've watched a few others, but your approach most closely fits with my preferred style ... a little bit a**l with the layout/regularity/appearance, but not excessively so. Thanks much for taking the time to do the playthrough and videos - I've learned a lot.

Once we start getting into endgame builds I honestly prefer visible platforms just to make it really feel like you've industrialised whole worlds. I can appreciate wanting to keep the natural look. I don't think it looks bad but something about paving over the whole globe just makes you feel so powerful and all consuming.
@TheDutchActuary5 күн бұрын
There's definitely that! I used to go all the way with making outlines in my foundations that color-codes sections to clearly show what I was doing there. Time consuming? Yes. Cool? Yes!

The ILS on the pole doesn't get any warpers, which can be a problem when we need solar cells out in the fringes of the galaxy. A quick logisics distributor setup solves that easily.

Thanks for the episode TDA! Regarding foundations, I started using concrete on my play through, but changed it to natural after the first planet. And one thing I noticed with the blueprints, some of the chemical plants making graphene (or was it graphite) are set to the standard recipe rather than the rare one. Obviously and easy fix, but thought you should know.

I do not like Foundations too much cause the stomping of the Mecha is to anoying all the time. It is louder as on soil. I only use 2-3 as markers for important spots and to find them from space quicker, such as 2-3 pads red, or blue. Other as that I like to mark Northpole (red) and southpole (blue) in some circle patterns. Thats all

Very nice. Regarding colored concrete, I seem to gravitate these days to basic/no color. Tending these days to not visible, so if I miss / over-cover an area it doesn’t annoy me. Which means that sloppiness is less obtrusive. I’m lazy (relaxed). Lol

How does the center ILS in the Interstellar mall get it's warpers?
@TheDutchActuary9 ай бұрын
Good question! It actually doesn't! (although that's nothing another distributor won't fix). Thing is, the items being collected there are always things you need on a developed planet, and those tend to have a powered ILS with its own warpers where you'll request that. Says a lot that I hadn't actually noticed them missing until you asked :D

Question: Is it better to clear the whole planets in a system from hives (and put planetary defense on each) for the endgame, or just the planets we get stuff running? 14:19 I think there is something wrong with upper 6 Chemical Plants making Carbon Nanotube. There is no input for Graphene and Titanium Ingot on the belts. I think they just have to be switched to Stalagmite Crystals instead. PS same seed: Found more Silicon in Hasseleh, found Crystalls in Asellus Borealis and found Sulfuric Acid and Grating Ore in Eta Muscae, loooots of Grating Ore on Eta Muscae I

Hi TDA, loving your masterclass guide! Quick question about the Deuterium fuel rod production. The factory makes 1 per second and the mini fusion plant uses 1 per 40 seconds. So since each power facility uses 24 fusion plants will you need to make more deuterium rod production factories for every 2-ish Power plants? Or will the one production facility be okay for multiple power plants? Not sure if i am making sense lol
@deksroning1259 ай бұрын
You know what would be good? Maybe the devs could make the starting system a little easier to conquer, and then making things more difficult in terms of progression if you want to start spreading to other planets. This would potentially mean that they could make Warp capability attainable in a similar way, but attaining and using Green science would become more difficult. Locating and securing Acid and Organic Crystals in their natural forms would of course require more aggressiveness from the Dark Fog as they wouldn't want you to advance to the point where it becomes easier to destroy them. Also, introducing a more cohesive storyline (that's part of the main one) that 'unlocks' during different stages of research might be good.

I actually postponed that until the next episode! (I initially intended to include it here, sorry!)

Now we're getting somewhere! Thanks for this new set of blueprints, though I recognize an old theme there in the "mega" proliferators. 🙂 Here are some things I noticed on the first revision of the new blueprints: On blueprint 054 Key Rares, the last 6 chemical plants are using the non-rare recipe, reducing output. On blueprint 057 (new quantum chips) the output belt for the CPUs was left off which prevents any output. Once that's sorted out, the output looks great at 60/min.
@TheDutchActuary9 ай бұрын
Huh, weird - I actually caught those nanotube chemlabs but seems I didn't actually update the blueprint. Sigh. Fixed now, as well as the missing belt in the other one! Thanks as always ;)

When laying these polar blueprints, how do you know which direction to lay the print? or does it matter as long as the 4 lines are lined up?

Bit late to the party but on foundations I am fond of the au natural look on the home planet and some of the others that are not barren however in your various legacy playthroughs I really did like the dark coloured concrete with the borders keyed to the products - they did look very pro and erm ....they scratched my OCD itch to be honest ..
