Dude is the least favorite child to his single father on a dying planet, who left without even giving him a proper goodbye. He had to drop out of school to bring food to table. His grandfather died. He had to bury his first child. His character is so fkn sympathetic it makes me sad.

I know this is a *versus* thing, but I'd like to point out the cute subtle jokes that Ryan puts into his videos; You didn't mention his end-plate on this one where he says that he is *_"Bryan George_* filling in for Ryan", & how he tried to imitate Ryan's performance - which is the punchline to his reference in the *Pitch Meeting* to how Murph is the _Becky_ of the two kids. (Since _Becky_ from *Rosanne* was played by two different actors in the series). It's an unrelated joke to the content, but shows just how much effort he puts into his whole video, including the end-plates.

I need to watch Interstellar again to give it an honest review because when this and Gravity with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney were successful I was just so darn happy that big time scifi films were being made again! I'll have to watch Dune somehow

HAL was the computer from 2001 A Space Odessey - they got the name HAL by going one letter up from IBM. If you watch 2001 A Space Odessey - that ending doesn't make a lick of sense IMO. 7 minute acid trip, old guy Dave? The monolith is NEVER really explained... I think it was Kubrick being weird for the sake of weird.

Besides the binary being extremely wrong, the thing that bugs me is when he drives through a corn field. Ok, stay with me here, laws of supply and demand! If we are struggling to grow food, and it's so bad that we are leaving the planet, then food must be in extremely high demand! He destroyed BILLIONS of dollars worth of corn!
