A lot of times I watch Pitch Meetings as background noise because he rarely uses visual gags without some verbal indication it's happening. So I've probably listened to this one at least a dozen times and never once realized they switched characters. Amazing

Khan wasn't just in the second movie, but he was in the original series. The wife he spoke of left with him when after Kirk let him go, she was a crew member. That's what makes it so great. They brought an original Star Trek character back.

You know, the funny thing is, the wpman who played Carole Marcus had no problem with the role, and didn't feel like she was being overly sexualized. Another case of people getting offended on behalf of someone else, even though they see no reason to be offended themselves.

Right! She was totally fine with it. It is random, but that happens all the time in movies.
@exodustimes42662 жыл бұрын
If the actors are cool with doing these scenes then who are we to criticize or shame them?
@JakkFrost12 жыл бұрын
@@OnMyMindEntertainment yeah, it's a little random, but it was something that could happen in-universe, it just happened on camera instead of off camera. The scenes I call gratuitous are when there's no logical explanation for boobs to be visible at all, whether on or off camera, bra or not. "People are dying horribly all around us but let's get it on right now!" (Edit: doesn't mean I enjoy them any less, mind you. 😜)

Very true. And let's not forget how many times men run around half naked in movies. No uproar there. And if they had ever seen the original Star Trek show, they would know that it was pretty sexy quite often, especially for the 60s, so it was on brand too.

I gotta say, I love the J.J. Abrams/Justin Lin Star Trek movies. They don't make the greatest sense most of the time and unfortunately have no regard for actual science in their science-fiction - you know, like claiming in the first one that a supernova would threaten the galaxy, which is like saying a firecracker going off in a parking lot would threaten the whole Earth - but the character interactions and the visuals are really fun. Some things I can led slide. Of course you would still need starships to determine which new places are safe to beam to (or where they even are), or you could come up with a reason later on, why interplanetary transportation is too dangerous to use, like ripping up the space/time continuum or spreading people all over the galaxy on multiple accidents. Same with the back-to-life juice. Oh, and I love the lens flares. I think they give these movies a beautiful shiny, iconic and unique look.

This movie is what happens when you have lots of money but no creativity or inspiration. Even the new Star Wars movies do a better job of ripping off their previous movies than this one does, although that's debatable.

Star Wars sequels just really tanked Star Wars. I mean Disney has done that to everything marvel Star Wars Indiana jones so on and the other franchises from other studios also have been tanked. They went pretty aggressive with the other ones also like terminator killing Connor like instantly and with zero drama really just like oh the main guy from that entire time and boom he’s gone and here’s a chick version who isn’t as good as always. And next franchise.
